EDIT!! Uh oh - there is now a 4th baby so trio names won’t work!!😳

We have some new friends at work!! Seems like every spring we have a starling who nests in our eves and every spring the babies end up in our ceiling 🙄…..we rescued all 3 today and will do our best to raise them until they can be released! Anyone have any ideas for some good names?

As much as we would love to take them all, we are currently completely out of room for more cats and kittens. Believe us, it’s not that we don’t want to help (we always do!), we just do not have the space to house anyone else right now and are working on the medical care of the cats currently at the rescue and at the vet office. If you call and need help and we cannot help right now, give us a few weeks before trying again. Thank you for understanding! ❤️

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEL!

You may have seen Mel lounging in our window or toodling around behind the desk. He is a young rescued poorly bred French Bulldog with a plethora of health issues who has already had life saving heart surgery at Cornell. For the moment he is doing well and feeling good and today we celebrate his second birthday. Go Mel!!

An update for those of you following the story of Mel the dog who lays in our front window ….

Mel and I went to Cornell yesterday and didn’t quite get the news we hoped for. Not awful news but not as good as I’d hoped. The pressure in Mel’s heart is up a bit. Not significantly enough to warrant intervention or cause symptoms but up. The stent is working well so they aren’t exactly certain why. For now we let him continue to have fun and monitor him. This does take surgical repair of his diaphragmatic hernia, abdominal hernia and neutering off the table for now as long as we can continue to medically manage his gastro issues. The rewards vs the risks are just too high.

I’m giving myself 24 hours to be sad about this news and then we will continue to love him fiercely and keep him feeling good for just as long as we possibly can. We go back in 6 months for a recheck.

As always huge thanks to everyone at Cornell!! He wouldn’t even still be here if it weren’t for them❤️
