Nothing more precious as baby Cals!
Illinois State Fair 2024 Open show is in the books. The sun was shining and it was a good day for a show. We started out with Meat Pens and we were 9th overall for the Open show with one pen and the other was DQ’d for a broken tooth. Our single fryers did not break the top 10 but we had great remarks from Judge John Grimm. Open French Lops, we were the only French Lops showing. Our Brokens again won BOB and BOSB. In our Cals, we had BOB with a Sr.Doe First time showing her under Judge Bruce Ormsby In the Illini Classic, we won BOB with a Jr Doe under Judge Tom Berger. We didn’t get many pictures as it was more fun to talk to people about rabbits and chat with old and new friends.
Finally have a moment to talk about Lop Nationals. This was my first trip out east and I had a blast. We took 8 rabbits to show and we are very happy on how they placed. The competition was great! Congratulations to Pat & Lynn Eden on their BOB and BOSB Very well deserved!!
Here are our placing
Solid Sr. buck Sarai- DQ small access on jaw
Solid Sr.Doe Jerzie - 17th
Solid 6/8 Buck Zeus 2nd
Solid Jr. Doe Marmalade 9th
Brk 6/8 Doe Loretta 2nd
Brk 6/8 Doe Venus 4th
Brk 6/8 Doe Mirah 9th
Brk Jr Buck Milo 3rd
At the awards banquet we received an award that every French Lop breeder probably deserves at least once. We won Worst Molt! lol Ms Mirah thought it was the perfect time to “POOF” so I accepted this award for all Frenchie breeders!
Can’t wait until Louisville!!
Chessa’s babies are doing well
Update are on our ziplock baby Cals. We had 6 babies that were born in the wire so we put them in a ziplock bag, put the bag in warm water to revive them. We did loose 1 of the 6 but the remaining 5 are doing well
