Humane Society is a place of hope and compassion. Its mission to provide and care for suffering and homeless animals, to prevent cruelty to all animals, and to advance humane education, is as vital today as it will be one week, one month or one year from now. If you believe as we do, please consider making a donation today. With your help, together we can make our beliefs become a reality. By making a tax-deductible charitable donation, you can help the Clinton Humane Society continue serving Clinton, Iowa and part of western Illinois. Our greatest reward is when an animal is reunited or adopted to go home to a loving family.

March is Pet Poison Prevention Month!!

😻🐶🐾Pet Poison Prevention Month is a time to raise awareness about the dangers of pet poisoning and how to keep our pets safe.

🐾How can I prevent pet poisoning?

●Keep hazardous substances, like medications, out of reach
●Be careful in the kitchen
●Keep houseplants out of reach or replace them with pet-safe alternatives
●Avoid feeding your pet human foods, like garlic, onions, caffeine, and alcohol
●Don't give your pet chicken bones, which can break apart and cause internal injuries
●Supervise pets outdoors and avoid letting them eat unknown substances
●Educate children about the importance of pet safety

🐾What should I do if I think my pet has been poisoned?

●Call ASPCA Animal Poison Control at

●Call Pet Poison Helpline at (855) 764-7661
●Call your veterinarian or local animal emergency hospital

🐾Common pet poisons include:

●Human medications, like paracetamol, cold and flu medicines
●Chocolate
●Rodenticides
●Anti-inflammatory medications
●Xylitol (sugar-free gum and more)
●Grapes and raisins
●Acetaminophen found in drugs like Tylenol
●Vitamin D preparations (tablets or creams)
●Mouse/Rat Poison
●Antifreeze

February 25th is World Spay Day!!

What is World Spay Day?
●World Spay Day is an international day that encourages spaying and neutering pets.
●The event is held annually on the last Tuesday in February.
●The goal is to reduce the number of unwanted litters and stray animals.
●The event also aims to improve pet health and reduce the number of animals that are euthanized in shelters.

How can you get involved?
●Consider spaying or neutering your pet.
●Support local organizations or veterinary clinics that offer low-cost spay/neuter services.
●Participate in events held during Spay/Neuter Awareness Month, which is recognized throughout February.

Hello All!!! We are still looking for tshirt and trophy sponsors for this years car show!!! We are extending the deadline for both of them to March 15th. We have been so BUSY lately!!! So far this year we have already spayed/neutered 83 of our animals and it's only February!!! Shout out to Ambassador Animal Hospital and BeJaze Animal Hospital in Dewitt for giving us all of these extra surgery days to make this possible, we could NOT do this without them!! Also a big thank you to everyone that donates to us, every little bit helps to get these animals fixed and back to good health so they can have a new start at life❤️🐾 Thank you!!!

Bonnie has been at the shelter since August of last year and she has been patiently waiting to find her perfect match! Bonnie can be a little shy at first but she only takes a minute to warm up. Bonnie is a super sweet girl that loves walks, playing outside and getting those zoomies in. A perfect day for Bonnie consists of love, snuggles and a few tasty treats, she is a GREAT girl that deserves nothing but the best!! We are halfway through the month, and halfway through our "Walk 50 Miles" challenge with Mr. Lloyd, one of our shelter dogs, to raise money for Su¡cide Prevention! Every mile walked = $2 to the American Foundation for Su¡cide Prevention, $2 to Speak Out Against Su¡cide, and $2 donated to the Humane Society! We are at about 15 miles so far this month, so doing good, but to reach our goal, we could use your help! Come help us reach the 50 miles by enjoying the fresh air on our beautiful grounds and by spending time with our goodest walking doggo, Lloyd! Simply come during business hours and talk to the staff at the front desk about volunteering to walk. Hope to see you soon!
