This girl still looking for placement

Meet Luna. She is almost 7 years old and enjoys short walks close to home, playing fetch and cuddling on the couch. She is a bit fearful and is currently on Zoloft for her anxiety. I’m pretty sure she suffers from separation anxiety. She’s conflicted about dogs and I don’t know about cats and kids.

If you’re interested in fostering or fostering to adopt this beautiful girl, please let us know !

Tilly is a sweet hound girl on the hunt for her forever family. She is a buckskin plott and just under a year old. She loves to play with toys and other dogs, she would really love a fenced in yard to run and play in! She can be shy when first meeting new people but she warms up fast, shes just waiting for her chance at the good life! Tilly is fully vetted and ready to go!

If anyone is interested please let us know!

I’m contacting you as I was possible wondering if you could help a dog that is reside there. He is a 3 year old coonhound. He is absolutely the sweetest dog but shelter life has been extremely hard on him. He has very big emotions and I’m worried he won’t make it out. He has been there for 4 months and has slowly improved his behaviors. When he first came in he resource guarding everything (his food, bones, enrichment & toys). He has improved the guarding with certain people like myself, the other trainer, a friend of mine and a few other employees.
He is on trazadone and gabapentin.
The traz was prescribed for anxious behavior and howling at everything. The gabapentin is for possible pain. I have took him to another vet, to get a second opinion on him. The other vet may think he has either a sciatic nerve issue or possibly hip dysplasia. What had me concerned with the behavior he was showing was he would howling at his back feet and walk in a circle. Since being on gabapentin he is doing much better and hasn’t shown that type of behavior since.

Myself and another friend of mine that loves him has been doing everything we can to make him happy.
He loves care rides, sniff walks in the woods & loves to play with other dogs. He can be sociable but strangers can be scary for him.
He does prefer women over men but with good intros he can overcome it. He has like 2 men that work at the shelter.

So, with that I was wondering if you by chance could help by getting him out of the shelter and into your rescue. Again my main concern is that he has no big interest there (no meet & greets) and I’m worried that management will make me make the hard decisions on behavioral euthanasia which I don’t think it is needed. I’d be happy to give you any more information and him.

Meet Frankie. He is a kitty that has been coming to my porch for 2-3 years now. I think he was a young adult when he first showed up. I have gained his trust and finally brought him in Monday night. He showed up about two weeks ago not walking on a back leg. I have wanted to get him neutered but he is smart and avoided the trap, and last year I had Sabrina (who was also from my porch) and she was not fixed and actually pregnant. So I finally got my chance to catch him and brought him in Monday. He was in rough shape. He had a vet apt today, he got his leg checked out, he had an abscess that they drained and cleaned, got an antibiotic shot, f***l and dewormer for roundworm, distemper vaccine, microchip and FIV/FELV tested. Unfortunately he came back positive for FIV.

I am told to keep him apart from the other cats as deep bite wounds can spread the FIV. I’m not sure he can live with the other cats here and not fight. Being a street cat most his life he has had to fight. I’ve broke a few up. His life hasn’t been easy. But he has been very tolerant of everything in the last few days. No bite attempt and no smacks either lol just some hissing

If there is someone out there who has an FIV cat already, or no cats and would like to foster or foster to adopt Frankie, please reach out. I’ll do the best that I can while he is here, but if someone can offer him better, I’m open to it. He deserves it.

If you would like to donate to his bill today it would be greatly appreciated.

Shelter is looking for rescue for this poor guy

Otto has returned to the shelter. The large tumor on his stomach and a few other small spots were removed. His prognosis is good, but not guaranteed. We have been in contact with some beagle rescues but nothing is set yet. If you need this boy in your life and are willing to take the risks that come with him. Contact us. He deserves a loving home and soft bed, even if just to heal. He is neutered and will have a recheck in a few weeks. If interested please contact us. He is a very attractive boy and as he feels better I suspect you will have a fun loving big cuddle bug on your sofa.

Sabrina a.k.a. Beana Beana has officially been with the rescue for a year now, came in as a six month old kitten who was pregnant. Unfortunately both of her babies were stillborn. Since then she’s just been hanging out waiting for her forever home. As you can see, she’s just a silly kitty. I think she prefers to be an only cat, though she lives with many others. She just has not bonded with or befriended any of them. She has a standoff every now and then with one or two particular kitties. As for people, she follows me everywhere, and talks to me all the time. She’s fully vetted and ready for a home of her own.

Understanding Littermate Syndrome in Puppies

Bringing home two puppies from the same litter might seem like a great idea—they’ll have built-in companionship, right? However, many dog owners are unaware of the challenges that come with Littermate Syndrome, a behavioral condition that can develop when sibling puppies are raised together.

What is Littermate Syndrome?

Littermate Syndrome is a set of behavioral issues that arise when two puppies from the same litter (or even unrelated puppies of the same age) are raised together. These issues often stem from excessive bonding between the puppies, making it difficult for them to develop independence and proper social skills.

Signs of Littermate Syndrome:

Severe Separation Anxiety: Puppies become highly distressed when separated, making training and socialization more difficult.

Fearfulness: They may become overly reliant on each other, leading to increased anxiety in new situations or around unfamiliar dogs and people.

Difficulty in Training: Since they focus more on each other than their human, training sessions can become ineffective.

Inter-Puppy Aggression: As they grow, fights between littermates can become more intense, sometimes escalating into serious conflicts.

How to Prevent Littermate Syndrome

If you’re raising two puppies together, consider these steps to ensure they grow into well-adjusted, independent dogs:

Separate Training Sessions: Train each puppy individually to ensure they learn to focus on you rather than each other.

Encourage Independence: Allow them to spend time apart daily so they learn to be comfortable alone.

Socialization: Expose each puppy to different people, dogs, and environments separately.

Individual Bonding: Spend one-on-one time with each puppy to strengthen your personal relationship with them.

Should You Get Two Puppies?

While raising two puppies is possible, it requires significant effort and commitment. If you’re considering adopting littermates, be prepared to implement structured training and socialization strategies to prevent Littermate Syndrome.

By understanding and addressing Littermate Syndrome early, you can help your puppies grow into happy, confident, and independent dogs!

Hi, my name is 𝑃𝑅𝐴𝑁𝐶𝐸𝑅!

My name fits me perfectly because I LOVE to prance around with my foster siblings…human & pups. That’s right…I’m the whole package!

I am doing great with potty training & walking on a leash…who knew there were so many smells I’d get to experience?! I love to go for walks and run around outside, but I also am very snuggly with my humans & foster dog siblings.

Also…don’t tell my foster mom this but when I go potty outside I get a delicious treat and that’s my favorite part of the day. My mom says my stomach is a bottomless pit. I don’t know what that means, but she keeps giving me treats during potty breaks, so I’ll take it!

I am 15 weeks old & even though I love my foster home, I am ready to be in my forever home. Could that be with you?!

If so, please click her to apply! I promise you won’t regret it.
