Cherry picking! This is the first time in at least 2 years that we have gotten the cherries off the tree before the wild birds have. Gwen was very excited to climb up and shake branches

Frankie continues to be the only chicken who as ever gotten in this tree even though it's fully inside the chicken run and has such great roosting branches.

Some people put up signs like this to protect their property from the public. We put them up to protect the public from Ash 😬. Please take the sign seriously (yes some people don't and we have had close calls)

Grandma Dahlia emerging from a little romp in the woods 🌲🐮

Mason built us a gate to connect the pig pasture to the winter pasture so now we can move the herds around without just letting them out and crossing our fingers 😂

Jackie and the chicks get outside time every day and she's been teaching them to scratch and peck for food. They've been teaching her that it's more fun to just hide under her butt and wait for us to bring them back inside...

Ballydídean aims to promote animal welfare, ethical land stewardship, and positive community building

Founded by the Santosa family in 2018, Ballydídean Farm Sanctuary is something that Sarah and Ansel dreamed of starting since they were 15 in high school. Many have never met farm animals; particularly not those who were kept in non-production conditions and have misconceptions about the behavior or characteristics of those animals. Those misconceptions are often used as excuses for treating farm animals different from pets.

We want to adopt animals out of production conditions and give them happy, peaceful lives. And we want to give others access via community or educational events to help build a sense of empathy towards these animals, especially in children.
