The City of Clovis is seeking representatives to serve on its Animal Control Task Force. The Animal Control Task Force makes recommendations to the Clovis City Commission regarding the implementation of the animal control program and city code sections related to animals. Membership will include a veterinarian, a representative from the High Plains Humane Society, three members at large living inside the city limits and one resident from Curry County living outside the City of Clovis.

An application form can be submitted by contacting 575-763-9653 or emailing [email protected]. Applications should be submitted by 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 12th, 2024 to [email protected] or delivered to 321 N. Connelly Street, Clovis.

The shelter is open from 10 to 4.30 Mon-Fri., adoptions until 4. Saturday hours temporarily on hold due to staff shortage.

FREE Vaccine Clinic for dogs and puppies this weekend. November 11th and 12th. Parvo/Distemper vaccine (DAPPv) and Rabies vaccine are FREE. Microchips are $15 cash. Puppies must be at least 6 weeks old for a DAPPv vaccine, and at least 12 weeks old for a Rabies vaccine. No appointment is needed. All dogs must be securely on a leash and under the owner's control. Your dog must be healthy, please do not bring any sick dogs or puppies.

This has NOT affected any emergency telephone communication with Clovis Dispatch, the 911 system.

Should you experience any delay on our administrative phone lines and the matter is urgent, you may contact our Dispatch Center via 911. The Dispatchers will answer, but may simply take your contact information before disconnecting the call with you, to keep our 911 lines clear for emergency traffic.

City of Clovis First Responders have hidden rubber ducks throughout City of Clovis parks! Go out and find one (limit ONE per child) for your chance to be entered into the National Night Out prize drawings. The Clovis Police and Fire Department have multiple prizes being raffled off and your rubber duck is your ticket to win!
