It is with great pleasure that we welcome Hillcrest Park Zoo's newest arrival, "Valentine!"

"Valentine" is a Major Mitchell's Cockatoo, commonly known as the Pink Cockatoo, originating from Australia. These birds typically live up to 40 to 60 years!

Are you a teacher planning your next class field trip ? Come to Hillcrest Park Zoo we’d love to have you! Here’s how:

1. Call ahead with the number of people total (School staff and Students), Date and estimated time of arrival!
Tip: To avoid confusion, If parents are invited to accompany their kiddos we ask that they arrive 10 minutes before so we can charge them in advance.

2. Make sure you have a verified form of payment to pay the day of. Purchase Orders, Cash, Credit Card, Apple Pay, and checks all accepted!
Tip: School staff should do a headcount of the total number of people in attendance before paying.

3. Come to HPZ with smiling faces ready to explore our beautiful animals!

We are open Tuesday -Sunday 9am- 4pm and closed major holidays. With Spring and Summer being our busiest seasons for field/ Group trips we ask that you book in advance as spots are filling up quickly. We can’t wait to see your group here at HPZ !

In the face of frigid temperatures, Hillcrest Park Zoo will be closed today, Sunday January 19th, to safeguard everyone's well-being and warmth!

All animals will be snug and warm, sheltered in their cozy spaces, as remarkable zookeepers tend to their needs! Send thoughts below to our amazing zookeepers who care for our amazing critters! 🐅

Hillcrest Park Zoo will be closed for Christmas day and the day after Christmas. This does mean we are open Christmas Eve!
We also will be closed New Years Day.

We are TWO days away from Christmas Zoo Nights!!

Starting Tuesday, December 20th, Christmas Zoo Nights will be on full swing! With Christmas music, hot cocoa, and of course, the one and only, Santa Claus, this event will be magical! This is a FREE event so please bring all friends and family! From Tuesday thru Saturday, Christmas nights begin at 6 PM until 8 PM. We will see you there!

You and your loved ones are invited to join us for "Christmas Zoo Nights." This FREE EVENT is happening in two weeks from Tuesday December 17th to Saturday December 21st. Please come join us and see the wonderful lights while enjoying some complementary hot cocoa. These nights begin at 6 P.M and rumor has it, the one and only Santa Claus will be joining us!

East African Crowned Cranes are omnivores feeding on plants, insects, lizards, and small mammals. They are found in eastern sub-Saharan Africa and south to South Africa.
This endangered species can be found here at Hillcrest Park Zoo! Come say hello to Duke and his exhibit friends Peggy and Luke, the capybaras.
