Cindy's Hope For Precious Paws in Clovis, NM

Cindy's Hope For Precious Paws in Clovis, NM 501c3 Animal Rescue devoted to helping animals in the local area. We are a 501c3 Animal rescue and this page is devoted to helping animals in the local area.

We can help with posting lost and found ads. We can also help find homes for puppies or kittens or animals that just need to be rehomed. Our goal is to keep the animals in the area out of the high kill shelters. We do not help with vetting or vet bills. We will do out best to help every animal that crosses our path. We are here to help everyone in the area. We believe in working together with everyone to help all the animals in need. With teamwork we can all make a difference.

OWNERS AND DOGS REUNITED!!
Three Scottish terriers running by zia elementary headed west down an alley

What does rescue mean to you? To me, It used to mean save as many as you can, no matter what. But as I get older and kind of wiser, many more thoughts go into rescuing one animal. Is the quality of life better than it what’s when they were found or surrendered? Is it safe to adopt out an animal in its current (or somewhat extended help?) situation? Would you trust the pets with this animal, your grandma, your next door neighbors, your new born baby? If it is ever the answer, NO! Then think of what is best for that animal. Sure, saving an animal FEELS good but a persons internal emotions are not what should be considered. What if the last act of kindness is the right thing to do? Irreparable damage , animals that have mental issues, and pain are important things to pay attention to. Emotional fatigue is real. Check on your friends that rescue. We are not ok.

Meet Jade and Ruby. These girls were rescued from the clovis shelter. We have since gotten them up to date on shots, fixed and microchipped. They are sweet girls. They love to cuddle. They are good with cats, other dogs, and kids. They are only about 10 to 12 mons old. They are crate trained and doing well on potty training. Thier adoption fees are $175 each or if someone could find it in thier heart to keep them together the fee would be $250 for both. They always sleep together and play together but would be fine seperated as well. Message us today for applications for them.

Update! All of these animals have been adopted for a long time.

What do you know of emotional burnnout? Not much, huh? What about emotional black mail? Emotional burn out is also known as burnout, is a state of mental, physical, and emotional exhaustion that can occur from prolonged stress. It can make it hard to engage in activities you normally enjoy, and you may feel hopeless, cynical, or resentful.

Some signs of burnout include:

Feeling overwhelmed or unable to meet demands

Losing interest in things that were important to you

Feeling helpless or hopeless

Feeling removed from your work or the people you work with

Having trouble focusing on your job

Feeling little satisfaction from your work

Doubting your skills and abilities

Using substances to feel better

Some strategies for recovering from burnout include:
Seeking counseling or professional help
Asking friends and family for support
Practicing self-compassion
Monitoring stress levels
Journaling
Trying stress management techniques
Setting boundaries

Burnout is more common among younger people, women, singles, and people with higher education.
Now let’s cover emotional blackmail. Emotional blackmail is when somebody asks you to do something and you can’t do it so they come back with a but like, but I guess it’ll just have to go to the pound or but I guess we’ll just have to shoot him or but I don’t have anywhere to take him. You’re my only hope. In my head, BUT is not a fun or helpful thing to say. You are wanting to make me feel bad for a situation of your making. Whether turning a dog into a shelter, taking an animal to be put to sleep, none of that is my fault. What is my fault is supporting our volunteers, trying to raise money, making sure all of our animals have soft spots to land WITH food, water, and the basic support they need. What is my worry is why you have this animal that needs help yesterday. And how to introduce this animal that we have very little clue about. Their temperament to other fosters, pets in the home, go ahead ask me. Ask me when I wasn’t so angry I want to scream until I’m dead, ask me why people don’t want to donate $10 a week for 6 or more months. It’s not like it could be money we cry over getting for vetting, food, and other needs. We absolutely don’t expect a penny of donated money to help with the vehicles we drive to do rescues that are on their last legs. It doesn’t go to buy one meal on a day we’re were run ragged one time too many and cooking is not an option. Go on. Tell me I’m insane to keep this up. We know others gave up long ago. Then YOU tell us about a kitten that was thrown in a dumpster to die and YOU made a choice to save them. How saving her made you cry for a week straight. Tell us about the one sick older dog that you had to try to save but by the time he got too late. Tell the people how you went to McDonald and brought this little diabetic dude all the french fries , chicken nuggets, and ice cream for him to stuff himself with. That dude deserved to go out with a bang. If it weren’t for us he would have been dropped off somewhere and he would have been alone. We do things different. You can take your emotional blackmail and shove it where the sun don’t shine. Because of me and my people, we will keep on keeping on.

If you see one of us that looks like emotional burn out, be kind. Candy doesn’t hurt either!

Hi everyone. This Jet. He is a 1 yr old male kitty looking for his forever home up at petsmart. He is up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee has been sponsored which means there is no fee for an approved home. He is really shy at first so likes to hide and really isn't seen at petsmart. He needs someone to just give him a home wherebhe can have time to adjust to new surroundings. Please go see Jet today at petsmart.
