A little late, but we are all still smiling after a fun and successful trip to the National Gelbvieh show in OKC! We were blessed to exhibit the Reserve National Champion pen of 3
purebred heifers and our purebred bull won his division and Dustin did a great job of showing him in the final drive! Hearing all the compliments from fellow breeders was the best part! We are gearing up for our annual sale on March 2nd where we will be selling 30 bulls and 25 females. Pictures and videos are available at www.cibsgelbvieh.com

Thankful for the sunshine today to start picturing and videoing the bulls for our 2024 sale to be held on March 2nd! Shawna got a horse last spring so I told her to bring him to the sale pen to help push bulls around. It worked pretty slick! Disposition is important to us so most of the time we literally have to push the bulls! Next time I’ll use the horse so I can sit on my butt the whole time! 🤣

Working on installing a Cobett fountain. Anyone out there installed these before and have any insight or tips for me before I get the install complete? I plan on putting posts on 2 sides so multiple lots can access. And I’ll put fabric and rock around it once done. Any thoughts are appreciated!

You mess with the bull, you get the h…..head butt! Volume up for the full affect! 🤣 Kids have been busy getting the calves ready for state fair. We will be at the fair the 17th-20th so if you are there any of those days, stop by and say hi!

Busy times inside and out! Calving barn is full and bull and female sale catalog prep is in full swing! Tina is teaching Shawna how to edit and crop photos and put them into the catalog. I’m thinking by the looks of it Shawna would rather be working with the cows! 🤣 Mark your calendars for March 4th!

Quick project on the farm this weekend! Made the alleyway accessible from both sides now so working cattle will be more efficient. Cut part of the wall out but then it was still too high for the littles to reach the cattle. So we built a catwalk to help them out. But then it was too tall for Brayton and he was hitting his head so had to cut some of the loft out! 🤣 We will be weaning calves this week and they are sure looking good!

No doubt, 2021 was a puzzling year! But we are stronger because of it! We ended the year doing pretty much we will start off the new year doing! Bull sale pictures, moving cows to gear up for calving....and calving! Happy New Year everyone!

From clipping bulls to frosting cookies, the kids were great help today! But it was honestly less messy cleaning up after clipping bulls than it was the cookie frosting. 😂

Moved the big group to their new golden ground. The last half of the move went flawless. The first half tested my patience beyond my breaking point! 😂 The beautiful sunset at the end fixed everything tho. Love this time of the year!
