URGENT RESCUE AND DONATIONS NEEDED
We were tagged in a McDowell County WV situation and posted for a foster. This malnourished momma and her surviving babies were picked up last night by a McDowell foster. They were able to secure a couple others off of the property as well (we are told there may be upwards of 30) If anybody has anything left to spare the foster needs puppy chow, flea meds and dewormer. *this is not a call the authorities situation bc there is no where for them to go. We can only help who we have fosters for ad we get a foster. If you want to help please donate or offer to foster

This little family came to SHARP today and we will start the antiparastics and vaccines while getting some weight on them. When faced with the decision to humanly euthanize a suffering animal suddenly everyone on fb is a veterinarian. We will never keep an animal alive and suffering just to say we kept it alive although we have not been faced with this decision too often. We need donations towards the puppies we had to help crossover today..if you have a couple of dollars to spare [email protected] is our paypal. Thank you.

📣DONATIONS NEEDED. Warning, sad videos. This morning we were contacted about 2 puppies seizing, clenched jaws, foaming and white gums. They had been in this condition several hours before a good Samaritan obtained them and contacted us. We had them sent to the vet immediately. The videos posted were about 3 hours prior to the decision to euthanize was made. These puppies worsened in that time and the seizures became uncontrollable. Due to not being able to bring them out of the seizures the decision was made to release them. The vet questioned rabies and distemper. We agreed to let them send them to be tested for rabies since Raleigh County has had animals test positive. We initially were not going to add the extra expense of distemper testing since these puppies needed euthanized regardless of the test results but with so many people concerned we contacted the vet and we did request post mortem distemper test. We will post any results when we get them. This is a holiday weekend so results will take a bit longer. Please understand, we do not take euthanasia lightly and we do not make these decisions in haste but we also will not keep an animal alive and suffering just to say we kept it alive. There are 5 other puppies in this litter if anybody who thinks we made the wrong decision would like to take them and quarantine them. In the meantime, we need help to cover this bill. While it is not the outcome we hoped for, these puppies could have suffered for hours had we not been able to send them. There are other puppies in this litter who may still break with something. If you can donate, the bill estimate with testing is around $800, we are waiting for the final invoice and Pigpig was able to raise $200 for us so far. Sullie is making slow progress. Every day we work on her trust a little at a time. Today she shared some kisses. Sullie needs a long term rescue commitment, we will transport. Momma and her 3 babies next to her are also seeking commitment. Paypal [email protected] to support our efforts

Momma Reba was a McDowell County stray who arrived at SHARP Thursday. She is currently whelping. So happy Karen Green Mays was able to get her up the mountain in time, they would have surely frozen to death last night. Reba is up to 10 so far, one required the hair dryer but is now mobile and latching. We have an amazon wish list but also every other way to donate. Thank you!!

Alfie came to.us spur of the moment yesterday. His skin covered in white flakes we suspected was lice. During his bath i determined not lice but his skin sloughing off. Suspected a skin infection. With closer review this am i noticed movement. He has 3 wounds full of maggots. Now we know. Now we heal his little 1.5lb body. Commitment needed for 4 malsheptiger puppies.

RESCUE NEEDED This is Blossom..Blossom was found as a stray and brought in by animal control. She appears to be overbred and may even be early term now (not showing signs but always possible). Dog tested on leash and was non reactive to males and females. Best guess is 3-5 years but.. Shes a bit Chonky aprox 50lbs. Please share and tag. TRANSPORT AVAILABLE.

When your parvo pup finally has a solid 💩 you rejoice and tell everyone. Week and a hlad of meds and fluids and round the clock care. I think I'll name him Elton bc he loves to sing. Now that he feels better he's angry about his confinement. This is what we do. Want to support us? We have an amazon wish list.

Biscuit and her babies are doing amazing and thriving. Eyes are ever so slightly starting slit openm we will have peepers soon..

Biscuit was supposed to leave on transport today but stopped eating and started displaying nesting behavior yesterday so I held her back. She is beyond sweet❤️ Keep her in your thoughts. I'm shocked she didnt pop last night..

A Team is Born

Many of you already know us and we can’t wait to meet so many more. We are located in southern West Virginia. We have been involved in rescue for several years now but in 2018 we crossed each others paths and a fantastic team evolved. We only have a handful of amazing fosters and drivers but we hope that will expand as we grow. We are in the process of applying for our 501c3. We hope you continue to support us and watch us grow as part of the best village out there.
