Miss Sadie is still looking for her forever home.

She is a 10y/o boxer mix. Don’t let her age fool you…she is in excellent health. She requires no maintenance and is the most low-effort dog EVER.

She is perfectly house trained. She gets along great with all dogs that she has met (which in our particular line of work, is a LOT). She is great with kitties as well. She shares food bowls and is just an absolute angel in the house.

Sadie loves to walk and she is perfect on a leash. Still has energy to keep up with an active person, but is also perfectly content to nap on the couch all day as well.

She is wonderful on car rides and she is crate trained.

She would prefer a home without small children. She is not violent towards kids, but she will go hide to avoid the chaos.

She would be the perfect dog for nearly any situation.

Sadie’s lost TWO previous homes because her owners went to hospice and did not return. 😭

Please help us find Sadie a safe spot to live out her golden years. She has been through so much and still is absolutely the world’s bestest girl. 🖤

Mama Ophelia, from the Logan county mine site, and her tiny beans are doing great.

Ophelia is slowly learning that all humans don’t suck. She is still very protective over her babies, but she will allow pets and scritches as long as you’re not in the whelping box.

Yesterday morning as the snow poured down, we were tagged in a 911 post of a mama dog and ten newborn pups dumped at a mine site in Logan County.

Thanks to Robin Kilgore, these souls made the long trip to Beaver in the worst kind of weather. If not for her, these babies would have all died.

Unfortunately, the runt of the litter passed overnight. The 9 remaining puppies are nursing well.

Mama, now named Ophelia, is very protective over her babies. She is cooperative, but she definitely has eyes on her babies at all times.

We are very thankful we were able to get these babies off the mountain in time, and for everyone involved in their rescue.

On Tuesday we accepted 7 puppies in poor condition from McDowell County (no not the one with the mom posted) on Wednesday a volunteer was notified there was an 8th puppy but this puppy had been attacked by a larger dog. She quickly secured the puppy and rushed it to us. There are several bite wounds around the eye but the eye has not been punctured. The wounds seem to be a couple days old but infection hasn't set in yet. The worm load is so heavy they are throwing worms up. This little pup is cleaned up and started on antibiotics.
