Christy Menke is bringing her long history of travel and over 35 years of experience in the Equine Industry to help people find the bond for successful riding with their horses. She is excited to announce, after many years of staying in the shadows to help those in need, that she is ready to get back into teaching lessons, coaching and training by opening Menke Farms LLC. The farm is a way for her
to help the industry and people who want to learn how to achieve their personal best with their horses, while also supplementing her love for the therapeutic riding field. Experience includes:
• 10 year 4-H member and coach
• Competed at American Quarter Horse Congress
• B level Pony Club 3-Day Eventer (Ohio Valley)
• Trained with Anne Sutton, 3-Day Eventer and competitor in the 1988 Olympics
• Trained with Laura Wharton, Grand Prix Dressage rider in Atlanta. Assisted with management and training of Laura’s Trakehner breeding farm.
• Trained with Debi Connor in Virginia Beach, and managed up to 15 hunter/jumpers on the A3 show circuit as well as 40 hunter jumpers at the home base.
• Competed on the A3 Jumper Circuit with her personal Grand Prix Jumper, Lakeland. Lakeland was purchased as a c**t and raised and trained by Christy to Grand Prix level. Christy feels this is her greatest achievement in the equine industry and where she learned the importance of bonding and becoming one with the horse.
• Managed her own Holsteiner breeding farm and started Holsteiners and Irish Warmbloods under saddle for the show circuit.
• After a car accident that was career ending, Christy moved home to Indiana to provide stability for her daughter and built her dream of starting a therapeutic riding center to help those who did not have the opportunities others may have.
• PATH certified riding instructor
No matter what your discipline, Christy's focus is to provide training and teaching at Menke Farms that is well-rounded in the philosophy of suppleness and balanced riding so that riders can achieve the special bond with their horse needed for success, both in and out of the show ring.
