To all of the small sanctuaries out there,

The ones who go unnoticed.
The ones with no big donors.
The ones who can’t find volunteers.
The ones who can’t get a single soul to be a donor match.
The ones who pay out of pocket because their accounts are overdrawn.
The ones who can’t compete in this world of algorithms.
The ones who feel discouraged, defeated, and like they’re failing.

We see you.
We appreciate you.
And the work you are doing is life-changing.

Keep going. For them. ❤️🐷

Love,
The Mini Mountain Farm 💚

And to the people who support these small sanctuaries, you are our lifeline. We appreciate you more than you’ll ever know. 🥹🫶🏻

🌟 Meet Bess — The Pig Who Loves Bigger Than Her Past 🌟

Today, we want to introduce you to someone who embodies everything Giving Tuesday stands for: hope, resilience, and the power of compassion.

This is Bess — one of the most beloved residents at The Mini Mountain Farm Sanctuary.
If you’ve ever had the privilege of meeting her, you know: Bess doesn’t just steal hearts… she restores them.

Bess spent the early years of her life isolated in a college breeding program. She was used solely to produce piglets, never given love, comfort, or companionship. And when her body could no longer provide profitable pregnancies, her life no longer mattered.

But then something incredible happened.

A connection.

A moment of recognition.

A soul-to-soul spark that said “Not this one. Not Bess.”

That connection saved her life. And now, Bess is safe. She is loved. She gives love freely. Her gentle nature touches every visitor who meets her. Despite everything she endured, she has chosen joy, trust, and connection. That spirit is why she has become the heartbeat of our sanctuary.

But here is the hard part:

❤️‍🩹 We are in crisis.

Our sanctuary funds are at an all-time low. For months, we’ve been covering the cost of feed, vet care, shelter, and daily needs out of our own pockets. We are stretched thinner than ever, and we cannot keep going without help.

💚 This Giving Tuesday, Bess is asking for your support.

Your donation today doesn’t just keep Bess safe.
It keeps all of our residents fed, warm, healthy, and loved.

It keeps our gates open.

It keeps hope alive.

👉 If Bess has touched your heart, please consider donating today.

No amount is too small — truly. Every dollar makes a real, immediate difference.

From Bess, and from all of us at The Mini Mountain Farm Sanctuary,
Thank you for believing in them.
Thank you for believing in love.

Today, we’re shining a light on someone with the biggest personality: Odie the potbellied pig. 🐽

Odie came to The Mini Mountain Farm after being abandoned by his owner, no longer wanted, and ultimately slated for auction. A beloved pet treated like he didn’t matter, discarded by the very humans who should have protected him. But the moment he arrived here, it was clear that Odie had never given up on people.

This boy knows tricks, loves affection, and will trot over to anyone who so much as glances in his direction, just in case they might want to give him a scratch or tell him he’s handsome. And if it’s even close to mealtime? That’s when Odie’s infamous “dinner fangs” appear, really just an absurd amount of dramatic drool, dangling like tusks as he eagerly awaits his bowl. It’s… impressive. And slightly alarming.

Odie has the most photogenic snoot you’ll ever see and can build a straw hut worthy of architectural recognition. He is gentle, social, endlessly sweet, and a daily reminder of why places like ours matter.

Here at The Mini Mountain Farm, Odie will never again be unwanted.

He will forever know safety, comfort, dignity, and love.

But we can only give animals like Odie the life they deserve with your help.

❤️ Giving Tuesday is tomorrow. Will you help us show Odie, and all our residents, that they matter?

Every donation, no matter the size, directly supports their medical care, food, enrichment, and lifelong sanctuary.

👉 Donate today and help us enter Giving Tuesday with strength and momentum.

Odie deserves the world. Let’s give it to him.

🌟 Resident Spotlight: Frankie — The Boss Man With a Heart of Gold

Today, we’re shining a light on Frankie, one of our beloved potbellied pigs and an unforgettable member of the trio we affectionately call “The Three Old Men.” Frankie arrived at The Mini Mountain Farm alongside Ralphie and Sonny after being rescued from a failed sanctuary where they’d been left to fend for themselves. With no food, no shelter, and no one to care for them, the three wandered freely, simply trying to survive.

Today, everything has changed.
Frankie, also known as Frankopotamus, has become the undisputed boss of the group. He’s a little rough around the edges and can be a touch grumpy, but don’t let that fool you. This old man has a soft heart and some of the finest old-man whiskers you’ll ever see. He takes his leadership role seriously, especially when it comes to Sonny.

We believe Sonny has impaired vision, and over time, Frankie has naturally stepped in as his guide pig. The two share a remarkable bond, never far from each other, always moving as a pair. Whether they’re navigating the pasture or curled up together in a warm bed of straw, Frankie watches out for Sonny with gentle protectiveness. Watching this friendship grow has been one of the most touching experiences at the farm.

When he isn’t looking after his best friend, Frankie enjoys soaking up the sunshine, relaxing in a cozy nest of straw, and indulging in long, luxurious belly scratches. It has been a joy and an honor to give these three old men the safe, peaceful forever home they deserve.

❤️Help Us Continue This Work

On this Giving Tuesday, your support makes it possible for pigs like Frankie, Sonny, and Ralphie to live out their days in comfort, companionship, and love.

Please consider making a donation today to help us continue rescuing and caring for animals who need us most.

🐷 Resident Spotlight: Wilbur

For this Giving Tuesday, we’d like you to meet Wilbur, one of the sweetest souls to ever arrive at Mini Mountain Farm.

Wilbur is a kune kune pig who came to us after a family reached out in desperation. They had bought him as a birthday gift for their daughter, back when he was a tiny piglet, novel, adorable, and easy to manage. But as Wilbur grew, the interest in caring for him faded. Teenagers get busy, life moves on, and suddenly Wilbur was no longer the cute little baby he once was. He became a pig with needs, emotions, and a desire for connection.

When Wilbur began rooting up the yard, the family didn’t know what to do. The father who contacted us truly cared for him and didn’t want to see him harmed, but he feared that sending Wilbur to the butcher might be the only option left.

We could not let that happen.

Wilbur wasn’t a problem.

He wasn’t disposable.

He was a loved family pet, one who deserved better than being discarded the moment he became inconvenient.

Today, Wilbur has a forever home here at Mini Mountain Farm, and he is thriving. He’s formed a precious bond with Georgio, and the two are absolutely inseparable. Whether they’re snuggled up in a warm bed of straw or screaming in unison at dinner time, they are a perfect pair. 🐷🐷

Wilbur is goofy, unbelievably cute, and always ready to flop over for a belly rub. How anyone could look at this lovable boy and consider giving up on him is unimaginable to us. We truly can’t imagine our farm without him. 💛

This Giving Tuesday, your support helps ensure pigs like Wilbur are saved, cherished, and given the safe life they deserve.

Most animals arrive at our sanctuary already carrying a story, and Yoda’s began long before The Mini Mountain Farm Sanctuary even existed.

From a Small Mountain Farm… to Our Hearts 💛

Yoda came from a small farm that bred goats for meat. She spent years as a primary breeding doe, bringing many babies into the world. As she approached the end of her “productive” years, the farm reached out to us to see if we wanted to take her in, otherwise, she would be processed for meat.

But Yoda wasn’t just any goat to us. She was someone we had known, loved, and quietly hoped for.

Years earlier, we lived in a little mountain house across from that same goat farm. Without knowing it, we were about to fall completely in love with goats. That first spring, we were invited into a moment we’ll never forget: the birth of four tiny baby goats—QUADS! We helped carry the babies and their mother from the field down to the barn, warming them and watching their first wobbly steps into life.

Among them was a doe with unforgettable ears, long, expressive, Yoda-like ears. And so the name “Yoda” stuck, and continues to fit her perfectly.

A Reunion Years in the Making

We loved many goats during those years, and our hearts broke each time a group disappeared from the farm. But we always made one thing clear to our neighbors:

“When it’s Yoda’s time to go… she comes home with us.”

Years passed. We weren’t sure if Yoda was still alive. Then, one crisp November day in 2024, the phone rang:

“Do you want Yoda?”

We didn’t hesitate for a second.

Not only that, we were able to rescue another young goat alongside her: Sprinkle, who has become her inseparable companion.

A Wise Soul Finally Home

Today, Yoda and Sprinkle are thriving. You can find them wandering the pasture side by side, munching the grapevine down to bare twigs, or simply soaking in the sunshine.

Yoda has a soul that reminds us so much of Bess. Quiet, gentle, deeply wise. She radiates peace. She asks for nothing but love.
And like all of our residents, she deserves safety, care, and a life free from fear.

This Giving Tuesday, You Can Help Write the Rest of Her Story

Rescues like Yoda’s happen because people like you believe their lives matter.

If Yoda’s story touched your heart, please consider donating today so we can continue saying “yes” when animals need us most.

🌟Giving Tuesday Resident Spotlight: Georgio

From Fragile Beginnings to Fearless Joy

When Georgio first arrived at the Mini Mountain Farm, he was everything you’d hope a Kune Kune piglet would be, bright-eyed, curious, and full of goofy charm. Rescued from a farm that bred pigs for both pets and meat, Georgio finally had his chance at a safe and loving life. But none of us could have anticipated how quickly things would change.

💔 A Sudden Decline

Almost immediately, Georgio began losing weight at an alarming rate. The once-bubbly little guy became weak, lethargic, and unable to stand for more than a few seconds. We knew something was terribly wrong.
Tests at Cornell revealed the devastating truth:
Georgio had the highest roundworm load the veterinarians had ever seen in such a young piglet. His tiny body was fighting a battle he should never have had to face.
The prognosis didn’t look good. His first days in the hospital were bleak, hour by hour, we watched and hoped. But even in his sickest moments, Georgio held on. He had a spark in him, a quiet determination that told us he wasn’t done fighting.

🌱 Little Victories… and a Love for Broccoli

Slowly, Georgio began to turn a corner. Day by day, he made the smallest improvements, just enough to keep everyone believing he could make it.

And in the middle of all this, we learned something delightfully Georgio:

He LOVES broccoli.

Not likes. Loves.

If you’ve spent any time around here, you already know this boy would do just about anything for a floret.

💚 Thriving Today

Today, Georgio is a completely different pig. He’s strong, spirited, and loves exploring every inch of the farm. He snuggles, he’s adventurous, he charms every visitor, and yes, he still has the loudest squeal on the whole farm.

Georgio’s story is one of resilience, compassion, and the life-changing difference that rescue can make.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re celebrating him and every animal who gets a second chance because of supporters like you.

Today we’re shining a light on one of the tiniest, and mightiest, souls to ever arrive at The Mini Mountain Farm Sanctuary: Copper. 🐥🧡

Copper came to us at only a few days old after our local feed store reached out in desperation. Among the flurry of “chick season,” a fragile baby with a badly injured leg simply wasn’t expected to survive. She was set to be disposed of because she couldn’t keep up with the others. But Copper had a spark in her, one we refused to let go out. ✨
When we picked her up, the store graciously sent another chick with her. What began as an act of companionship in transit quickly became a lifelong bond. To this day, Copper and Stone are inseparable, always found roosting together, wandering together, and protecting each other. Stone never once left Copper’s side during her most delicate days.
Copper arrived with a swollen, painful leg and couldn’t bear any weight on it. What followed were weeks filled with tender care: warm hands, meticulous wound cleanings, tiny bandages, medication, and the sweetest little x-ray you’ve ever seen. With time, and a whole lot of heart, Copper fully healed. She regained complete strength and mobility in that precious leg.
And now?
Copper is pure joy. She’s curious, spunky, and she loves music. If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ve probably seen her perched proudly on a shoulder, listening intently to a guitar melody like she’s the world’s smallest music critic.
Copper is more than “just a chicken.” She is a reminder of how fragile life can be, and how incredible it becomes when compassion meets opportunity. She deserved a chance, and because of supporters like you, she got one.

This Giving Tuesday, Copper stands as a symbol of what your generosity makes possible. A life once considered disposable is now safe, loved, and thriving, always with her best friend Stone by her side.

🧡 Your support writes stories like hers. Thank you for helping us give these small souls the big, beautiful lives they deserve.

This week, in honor of Giving Tuesday, we’re sharing the stories of some of our most beloved residents. Animals who have overcome neglect, trauma, and hardship, and who now live safe, gentle lives here at The Mini Mountain Farm Sanctuary. 🐷🐐🐰🐓🐈

Meet Ralphie, one of our beloved “Three Old Men,” and a soul whose quiet strength has touched every heart here at The Mini Mountain Farm Sanctuary. 🐷💛
Ralphie came to us after surviving an animal-hoarding and failed sanctuary situation. He arrived alongside two other potbellied pigs, Frankie and Sonny, each carrying their own emotional and physical scars from years of neglect. From day one, it was clear Ralphie had endured more than most. He is fat-blind, meaning he can’t see the world around him. Instead, he relies on his incredible hearing and sensitive snout to navigate safely, to find comfort, and to build trust with the humans and animals around him. 🐽
Of the three old men, Ralphie is the softest soul.
He doesn’t have a cranky bone in his body, just patience, gentleness, and a sweetness that unfolds slowly, like a flower finally learning it’s safe to bloom. He is cautious at first, nervous of new sounds and unsure of unfamiliar spaces. But if you’re gentle and give him time, something magical happens: Ralphie lets you in. And once he does, you’ll wonder how your heart ever lived without him. 🥹💛
Over time, Ralphie went from being the “odd man out” of the trio to becoming the center of their little love triangle. These days, you can usually find him strolling peacefully through the sunny pasture, wearing that signature smile that melts everyone who sees it… or tucked right between Frankie and Sonny in their nightly cuddle puddle, snoring softly and finally feeling safe. 😴🫶🏻
Ralphie has the most calming, grounding presence, a reminder that healing doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful. His journey is one of resilience, trust, and the beauty of second chances. And we truly cannot imagine this sanctuary without him.

This Giving Tuesday, Ralphie reminds us why sanctuaries matter. Every gift helps provide the safety, care, and love that animals like Ralphie deserve, perhaps for the first time in their lives.

💛 Your support is what makes rescues like his possible.

✨ Donate today to help us continue giving pigs like Ralphie the peaceful, sun-soaked life they deserve.

We have a new young lad that joined The Mini Mountain Farm this week! This is Tony. Tony was found abandoned beneath a pallet in a junk pile. He was lethargic, infested with fleas, and needed around-the- clock care. We think he’s between 3-4 weeks old, which means 2AM feedings have become our new normal! 😂🥱 He’s been eating like a champ and has been slowly warming up and showing us more of his goofy personality! He might just be the cutest thing we’ve ever seen and boy do we love him so! 🥰🧡🐯
