Hi, I'm Phoebe!!!! I am 11wks old. My mom says a am a akc registered german shepherd?? Not sure what that means. She also says I'm pretty amazing so amazing she's stumped on how I don't have a home yet?!? Which is weird because I am the bestest at walking on the leash, love to lay by your feet, altho my ears aren't all the way up I will listen the best I can to your stories!
I am doing good in the metal cage my calls it a crate but I believe it's a cage! Reach out to my mom if you want to meet me because I would love to meet you!

Greenlee County Residents-

In the past two weeks we have had three cases of Distemper come from the Duncan area. None of the dogs were properly vaccinated and all of them had severe neurological signs develop.

There is NO specific treatment or cure for Distemper other than supportive but you can vaccinate against it. Please, if you have not been great about keeping up on your dog's vaccines or have never vaccinated your dog, do so today or as soon as possible.

We have had several heat stroke dogs the past few weeks and most of them have not made it. Please, please be aware that just because you can be outside in the heat and ok it does not mean that your dog can.

Dogs do not have sweat glads all over their bodies like we humans. They only have sweat glands in their feet and we all know that their feet are not that big. They heat exchange through panting and when the air is hotter than they are, they are not doing anything but making themselves hotter when they are panting.

Please keep your dogs inside and if you have a breed that is at greater risk, do NOT put them outside and leave them without being out there with them. It literally can only take 10 minutes for an at risk breed to over heat.

If you find your dog and it has heat stroke do not rapidly cool it down. Call your veterinarian and head that way as fast as possible and let them do the cooling down the right way.
