It’s Freaky Friday! This is a close up look at ear mites under the microscope! Feeling itchy? Ear mites are generally too small to see with the naked eye, however, this infection was so severe we could actually see the movement on the debris we got from the ear!
Symptoms of Ear Mites:
🐜 head shaking, pawing at the ears
🐜 excessive “crusty” dark ear discharge
🐜 unusual itchiness all over
Animals that have spent time in shelters, or in close proximity to other infested animals are most commonly affected by ear mites. Treatment is simple; usually resolving after only a single application of medication. (ps, this kitten is doing great and on his way to squeaky clean ears!)
