This will be the last time I extend my services to someone in need.

With that being said I have had a dog left in my care 60 days with no compensation and hardly no communication along with major avoidance when being asked to pay the agreed upon monthly amount from the owner.

From this point forward, all training/ boarding will need to be paid day of drop off, this includes extended stays. Sorry for an inconvenience this may cause.

Just a friendly reminder that c**n, hog, deer, rabbit, bear, mountain lion, and squirrel seasons are open! There may be hounds and mixes showing up everywhere. If you find one, please call the owner; they'll be happy to come get their dog. These dogs have homes and are fed. They can look skinny after a couple of days of running lost without food—yes, it can happen that fast. Help them get home where they can be fed.

DO NOT REMOVE THEIR COLLARS! IT IS A FELONY! That funny-looking collar is a tracking collar, not a shock collar. This means someone is looking for them! These dogs look forward to hunting (no, you cannot force a dog to hunt; they do it because they want to). You are not saving or rescuing a dog if you take one and try to rehome it—you’re stealing someone’s dog, which is also a felony. Some of these dogs may appear shy or timid, but that's because you aren't their owner, not necessarily because the dog has been abused. Most of the time, it's from not being socialized with people. I know everyone has good intentions, but a little information to help everyone make the right decision might save some heartache for someone else.

September is Service Dog Awareness Month, a time to honor and recognize the incredible work that service dogs do to assist individuals with disabilities. These loyal companions provide essential support, ranging from guiding the visually impaired to alerting those with hearing impairments, and even detecting seizures or low blood sugar levels. The way of the warrior is mirrored in the dedication and training these dogs undergo to serve their handlers with unwavering loyalty and precision.

Service Dog Awareness Month also aims to educate the public about the rights and responsibilities of service dog teams. It is crucial for everyone to understand that service dogs are not pets but working animals with a vital role. They are granted access to public spaces, such as restaurants and stores, to ensure their handlers can navigate daily life with dignity and independence. Honor above all, respecting these rights is a fundamental part of supporting those who rely on these remarkable animals.

Lastly, this month is an opportunity to highlight the various organizations and trainers dedicated to raising and training service dogs. Their tireless efforts ensure that these dogs are well-prepared to meet the specific needs of their handlers. By spreading awareness and fostering understanding, we can all contribute to a more inclusive and supportive society for individuals with disabilities and their service dogs.

Many people are ✨shocked✨ to see that my dogs aren’t super dog-friendly. They’re a dog trainer’s dog, how can they be so mean?

“Mean” because they don’t run up to other dogs, mean because they aren’t dying to meet your dog, mean because they don’t tolerate inappropriate behavior..

To me, they’re an example of dogs with healthy boundaries and relationships to others. It seems to be the “norm” for a lot of dog owners to expect other dogs to tolerate all of their own dog’s behavior. If your child was being harassed by another child, would you tell them to tolerate it? Of course not; we would intervene and the same should be happening for our dogs.

Any inappropriate behavior (posturing, face licking, jumping, excessive sniffing), or really any behavior that makes the receiving dog uncomfortable, should be interrupted or punished.

This can happen in two ways: we intervene which is the preferred method. If your puppy is face-licking your older dog and your older dog isn’t enjoying it/is trying to get away, etc, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to remove the puppy from the older dog. We should not except any dog to tolerate annoying behavior and we certainly don’t want to raise our puppies to continue this. Or if your male dog is excessively sniffing a female dog to the point she’s uncomfortable, you can interrupt or punish that with a “no,” a nick on the ecollar, separating them, etc. It is your responsibility to manage your own dog and advocate for others.

The other option is to allow the receiving dog to correct the inappropriate dog, but this is rarely efficient and should only happen under very strict circumstances. We never want to allow a dog we don’t know to correct our dog. There’s a good chance they won’t, which will teach tolerance, and there’s an equally good chance they will overcorrect, resulting in injury or fight.

Often a puppy is raised where other dogs are expected to tolerate behavior. One day the puppy runs up to a dog and starts behavior that they’ve rehearsed, the new dog doesn’t tolerate it and corrects the dog/starts a fight...

Someone, please give this adorable boy a loving home!

Bruno has been on quite the adventure, but now it's time for him to find his forever family. This sweet boy loves to play with other dogs his size or bigger and is always up for some fun. He’s a big fan of kisses and belly rubs, and nothing makes him happier than a good nap with a cozy blanket. Bruno isn't too keen on having his nails clipped, but he's perfectly fine wearing a muzzle, especially if there's peanut butter involved!

Although there are not kids or cats at his current foster, I think older kids would be a great match for Bruno since he can be a bit rambunctious. He’s a smart pup who loves learning new things and has a heart full of love. Bruno has had some great doggy friends in the past, including a female pit mix and a male German Shepherd pup, both of whom he got along with wonderfully.

Bruno is a wonderful boy who is very smart, active, and good in his kennel. He’s allowed to have blankets in his kennel because he isn’t destructive at all. He’s strong but has a big heart and really loves people. While he hasn’t been tested with kids, he gets very excited in a playful way when he’s out in public. Due to his playful nature and strength, I wouldn’t recommend him for homes with small dogs or cats, but with some work, he could potentially get along with them.

Bruno does great on a leash and has been trained with an e-collar to understand boundaries and recall. He’s currently located in Twin City, GA, and is between 10 and 15 months old. If you’re looking for a smart, active, and loving pup, Bruno might just be the perfect addition to your family. Let me know if you’re interested in giving this wonderful boy a forever home!
