Mr. Dameon is such a handsome boy but I wish he would blow his weird coat faster. Dameon has such an odd coat texture that Iā€™ve never had in a Holland thus far itā€™s corse and airy almost fuzzy like but heā€™s not. Iā€™m hoping with fall/winter rolling up. He will get a much nicer coat, heā€™s been a train wreck the whole time. He is to milt more and you can see his new coat is much darker in the patchy areas. He definitely donā€™t have the Holland rollback show coat but Iā€™m hoping paired to Meadow the babies will get her beautiful coatšŸ’•

Been thinking about creating a new logo even tho my current one isnā€™t that old. What do yā€™all think? I was gonna update it a bit use my better quality hollands (not my starter rabbits) and add an English lop. As Iā€™ll be working with hollands and English lops now. I feel like the logo definitely needs and English lop!

Jetta (Silver Creekā€™s) x Koa (Blue Sapphireā€™s Voodoo) black singleton.
The little black bean is doing very well with meadow and has a full belly. Itā€™s a little larger than meadows kits even tho they are a day older. Meadow is a smaller doe and had 4 babies so they were much smaller.
Update on Jetta she was bred to Koa and only got 1 fall off from him. Then she became agressive and did not want to breed. We shall wait and see if nothing comes from it will try again in 31 days.

Meadow (Bugs Barnyard Buns) X Dameon (M&D Rabbitry) Litter of 3 Black Torts.
Miss Meadow is doing so well even with Jettas kit. You can tell whoā€™s getting more food for sure but they all are growing and doing very well!šŸ’• They are so precious and very excited to see their development. Will be hoping for a holdback!

Iā€™d say the bunnies were a big hit for the kids at the SunFlower FestivalšŸŒ». All the bunnies did well for the most part Dameon, Branch, and Creek were a lot of favorites they were very sweet boysšŸ„°. It ended up being a great experience only a little bit of rain so it wasnā€™t as busy as itā€™s been in the past. The overcast made it a nice temperature outside for the buns. It wasnā€™t too hot which Iā€™m thankful for! Made a lot of kiddos happy wanting to come back to hold the bunsšŸ’•.

We had some beautiful beans born yesterday and todayšŸ„°. Meadow had 4 little ones. Unfortunately one is a peanut and will not make it much longer. Peanuts are very disheartening. I was debating if I should leave him/her out of pictures but here we share all aspects of raising hollands and unfortunately this is a hard thing that comes with it. You may be wondering where the solid black came from šŸ‘€. Jetta had a singleton today. I found the baby this morning out of the nest box very cold but still alive. I was able to get him/her warmed up and will foster him/her to meadowšŸ’•.

I have made the decision to rebreed Jetta. As it is best for meadow to foster the singleton so he/she can stay warm with the other babies! We shall see if we have a better outcome next time around. Rose is being rebred as well as she never took and will be rebred this Friday!šŸ’•

08/13/2024

Jetta & Meadow are due today!! Fingers crossed for some litters. Rose did not take and will be rebred Friday! I have a good feeling meadow took she has made a hole in her nest so far.

Ignore the mess itā€™s been quite a week. All the rain we had and todayā€™s flash flooding. We had quite the scare a lot of homes got flooded from the aftermath of hurricane Debby. Prayers to everyone that was affectedšŸ’•. Thankfully we are safe and the flood just barely started to reach us. The water is slowly starting to go down. It looks like we will be in the clear for tonight. All our buns that were in hutches are currently residing in dry carriers tonight. Stay safe šŸ’•

No babies from our girl rose. I donā€™t think she took. She is due today. Will give her 5 days and then rebreed her. Hopefully have better luck next time!

My sweet boys who left us too soonšŸ’•. I created this piece a couple months ago just now getting around to share their stories. Having a rabbitry comes with the good and the bad. The hardships of loosing such sweet buns.

Phin hasnā€™t been mentioned on this page yet, he came before this page was made. Phin was a beautiful, big noggin, chocolate boy. Unfortunately, he was sold to me sick and snotty. I was first starting out and had no idea about illnesses such as pasturella. Itā€™s not addressed as much as it should! Phins case had open a whole new window of research for me and understanding of rabbit illnesses and medical care. Thankfully, I had a very educated vet to help guide me during this time. If it wasnā€™t for her I could have cross contaminated the illness to my other rabbits. Phin had cultures sent in and was found out he had the disease Citrobactor which is similar to Pasturella but more server. This disease not only can pass to other rabbits but can get weak immuned people sick as well. I had to change my clothes, wash my hands and arms everytime I took care of him. We tried treating him for 2 months. I had gotten a lot of hate and backlash for that as I was putting the rest of my herd at risk. He was quarantined from the day I bought him, thankfully I was already educated on how important quarantining is. I held on hope we could get him better and into a forever home but unfortunately his symptoms staid the same and he started to lose weight. I knew it was for the best not only for my herd but it was the best at heart for him to be euthanized. I did not know how long this issue has been going on and he did not deserve to suffer any longer. Rabbits are nose breathers and constantly being congested like he was, wasnā€™t a good life for him. He was supposed to be the start of my chocolate program that never came to be šŸ’•. Heā€™s been truly miss here.

Roger we all know and loved Roger on this page. His story has been somewhat told already. My herd was being treated for a different illness that had creeped its way in without me knowing. I absolutely will not sell a rabbit that may possibly have a disease under any circumstances. I do everything I possibly can to keep a healthy herd but the past year has not been too easy on me and has shown me all the hardships to having a rabbitry. My herd was going through penicillin shots and unfortunately Roger ended up having bad reaction from it and started going down hill. I wasnā€™t able to get him to a vet at the time and really dwell back to that situation a lot. I wish I could have done better for Roger. He was a wonderful boyšŸ’•šŸ˜ž. He was the 3rd buck I bought to start my chocolate program.

My chocolate program never became to be. I was dealt a hard hand that no matter what I played nothing worked out in the end. Willow my broken chocolate girl. Had also gone done hill during the course of these shots and it was a really rocky road for her. I thought I was gonna lose her too. She had to see the vet twice and after a month of trying everything I can to get her back on track. She came back on feed. I do not know the true cause of what happened to Roger and Willow. I wish I would have taken a quicker action with Roger had a did Willow but I didnā€™t know any better. I didnā€™t realize Roger was that sick until it was too late. Willow is still a resident with us and will be a permanent resident retired from breeding as sheā€™s had 3 failed litters. ļæ¼

Although I never got the chocolate program started that I wanted. Our herd has come out stronger and healthier in the end! We have some beautiful breeders coming up with litters this fall and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for my Tort lines. Itā€™s been a long rocky road but I hope 2025 will start to looking up. We will always be open and honest to our buyers and viewers with whatā€™s going on in our herd. We share the good and the bad of owning a rabbitry. Life will through curve balls and thatā€™s okay. Itā€™s the actions you take that reflects who you truly arešŸ„°!

(Thank you so much to all my followers. We love sharing our journey with you and so appreciative of all the support you givešŸ’•. If you were able to make it this far please leave a green and blue heart in the comments for Phin and Roger šŸ’™šŸ’š.)

Here is our surprise from our 6 hour road trip yesterday. Was a looong day 3 hours there and then the drive back home. We have officially added a new breed to the herd. Iā€™m so excited to start my journey with English Lops along with our Hollands. I adore her already. Everyone meet ā€œBluebellā€ her new barn name! She is Rausch Farms Rabbitry ā€˜Bellaā€™. She is gorgeous, thank you so much Freedom Wings Rabbitry for giving me the opportunity to have this girl. First time ever posing an English and she was somewhat cooperative, I think I may have over posed her a bit will need some practice! So far sheā€™s made herself at home and has her boss mode onšŸ˜….

Fern will be bred to Branch next weekend. August 3rd. Not sure how well they will pair excited to get some blue torts, hopefully they pair well together and give a decent baby to holdback! Itā€™ll be Branchā€™s first time being bred. Finger crossed it goes well and we get a healthy litter from them.šŸ’•

Iā€™ve been experimenting with chalk boards and white boards instead of a cage tag for breedings. That way I can write any additional info if needed so. I tried chalk boards first didnā€™t like them. Found these at the Dollar Tree and Iā€™m obsessed they work amazing. With a bit of tweaking using strips from left over metal roofing so the magnets can have a surface to attach too. They are a little bigger than I wanted but they match the teal trays really well and they look way better than I expected. I love how much the shed is coming together!

(Last pic was original idea) was too small and needed a better way to keep it from falling.

A good friend of mine has 2 English angoras looking for loving šŸ”ā€™s to hop. A chocolate doe and and chocolate VM buck. They are very sweet buns and given lots of attention. Angora coats are high maintenance and require a lot of grooming. Serious inquiries only. Located in 17728. Iā€™d be willing to help transfer them within a reasonable distance! Please reach out to Cami Sampsell or Ashley Stiber-Sampsell

My sweet boy Branch is really starting to grow into himself. He is definitely a brood buck. I love his head and ears but his body type definitely needs improvement he is long limbed with flipper feet. He lacks depth in his chest. He has a list of flaws Iā€™m awarešŸ˜…. Im really hoping him and Fern pair well genetically and we get some beautiful babies from themšŸ’• He is only 5 months old and Iā€™m unaware how his lines develop so he still has potential of really growing into himself. I absolutely adore him heā€™s such a teddy bearšŸ„°

Rose was bred to Koa last weekend and I got 2 fall offs. This weekend I bred Koa to Jetta and got 2 fall offs. Dameon was bred to Meadow and got 2 fall offs as well. Not very successful breedings would like at least 3 fall offs in one session. We shall see how it goes! Whoever donā€™t take this time around will be rebred in after the 35 days is up. Fern will be bred to Branch early august once he is old enough.
