CMRC will host its fifth and final winter informal trial of the season on Sunday, April 21. The weather forecast is predicting a really nice day on Sunday.
We offer six stakes in our winter trials. Open (Multiple marks and blinds), Qualifying (Multiple marks and blinds), Hunter (Doubles and potentially a blind), Derby (Doubles for dogs under two years of age), Junior Hunter (Singles), and Puppy (Singles with pigeons for dogs under 1 year of age). All stakes will use dead ducks unless otherwise noted.
Entry fees are $15 per dog. Dogs may be staked in multiple stakes.
Club members volunteer to judge. We have limited paid dedicated bird throwers, so participants are expected to help out in the field throwing birds.
We offer a light lunch of hot dogs and soup in our clubhouse for a nominal fee.
Registration begins in the clubhouse at 8 am and we begin running dogs at 9 am.
At the end of the day we award 1st through 4th placement ribbons.
The event is open to all retriever enthusiasts. you need not be affiliated with CMRC or any other retriever club.
CMRC is located at 2232 Golden Spike Road, Sauk Rapids. All stakes will be held on our club grounds.
We hope to see a large crowd this Sunday.

Chester will be missed by people and clubs all over the USA he was always willing to help whare needed.

For those of you that generously donated to purchase Chester Mooring's headstone through the Memorial Mock Field Trial, this is a picture of it. The remainder of the funds are being donated in his name to the Grimes County Animal Rescue Shelter earmarked for low cost spay and neuters which this county desperately needs.

We’re glad it worked out for you, we really are. But, it doesn’t change the fact that it is seldom a good idea to put a high drive working breed in an environment with an inexperienced, new dog owner. We’re glad it worked out for you, but that is the case only a small percentage of the time.

Finnegan is a special boy who needs a special home. He has a wonderful personality, loves to work, and is full of energy.

Finnegan is looking for a home without small children and only older dog-savvy children due to his exuberance, but he enjoys meeting children in calm and controlled settings. He likes other dogs, but somewhere along the way he missed out on some socialization, so he doesn't interact with other dogs in ways they appreciate. Unfortunately they seem to find him a bit obnoxious, so he would be happiest as an only dog. However, managed properly, he can happily share a home with other dogs like he currently does with his foster mom and three foster siblings.

Ideally he would be placed with someone who is a handler that would like to compete in obedience, rally, or scent work. But he would be perfect for a person who understands dogs and wants a fun companion to teach.
