We strive to produce top-notch ranch horses that are versatile and well-minded with both foundation and color. In addition to our ranch horses, we also offer colt-starting, tune-ups, and problem-solving for the public. We tailor our training program to meet the individual needs of the horse. This is a hard post to share. We unexpectedly lost Blu Silver Valentine this week. This horse, he was one of a kind. He not only played a substantial role in our program, but he was part of the family too. Always a gentleman and always ready to conquer what was asked of him. It's really hard to put in to words how great he was. Our breeding program is what it is today because of him.

He was the kind of stud horse that brought quality minds, confirmation, and an added bonus of color to his offspring. He was the kind of stud horse that you could pull directly out of the pasture with mares and as soon as you put the saddle on him, his mind would automatically switch from stud horse to working ranch horse without any fuss. He was the kind of stud horse that completed his job with a whole heart, whether it was at the ranch or picking up at rodeos. He was also the kind of stud horse that everyone in the family was able to ride and enjoy; he took care of us all no matter who was on his back. He really was what stud horses should be.

With zero symptoms or signs of anything prior, we were really hoping for some answers through the necropsy. Unfortunately, it did not reveal a definite cause of death. It feels unfair, but sadly this is the hard part of the life we live. We'll be experiencing his loss on many different levels for a long time, both personal and operational. But we also know that a lot of you loved him as well, whether it was through his babies or seeing him at rodeos. Thank yall for loving and supporting him..and us.

Just a little update since we've been rather quiet on here lately. Rest assured, we're still here! Fall started off busy with weaning foals and planting pastures. After getting all the foals weaned, we started focusing on some of our c**ts. "Ghost" and "Poco" have been getting work experience in tagging calves, as well as tracking steers in the arena. We've also had an outside horse with us since October that's been a "special case"...we hope to share more on him soon. Hope everyone is doing well this season!

All is well over here! We are very thankful to not have had any damage from Helene -- getting water to some of the horses was our only issue and we were still able to make do. An inconvenience from a power outage is such a small thing compared to what others are going through right now. Praying for all those affected by Helene's path ❤️

So much detail and work is put into breeding season each year in hopes of a successful foal crop to follow --- and it's so rewarding to see it all come to life!! The best sunsets are those seen from the back of a horse... I've been legging up JM Bigstar Hancock the last couple of months -- as we were warming down at the end of our ride this evening, we made it to the front pasture just in time to see the sun set. Matt caught a quick video and you can just barely hear the coyotes roaring in the distance. We were voted to pickup at the NCPRA finals in Alabama this past week. Words can't describe how proud we are of our horses for the effort and work it took from them to help get us there. Here's a little bit of individual spotlight on each of the horses that came with us to finals... Cinco (red roan) this 7 year old gritty little fireball is a full blown ranchy pick-up horse. He has really come to love his job. Where he may lack in stature he makes up with twice his size in heart. He is one of the first horses we raised from birth and has made us proud with the load he has carried this year. Doc (sorrel) is a 13 year old gelding that has been around the block when it comes to ranch work. He's never questioned any task at hand and has filled in as a pickup horse as good as any we could ask for. We are very proud to have him as part of our string. Blu Silver Valentine (blue roan) is our 5 year old stud horse. He has been with us to a few rodeos this year but really made his debut as a pickup horse this past weekend. He is setting the standard of what we are looking for in our horse program. His foals are proven to be like-minded and willing to work. His future as a pickup horse and his future legacy is too exciting to express!
