Even more so, today 🤍

I’ll always be my biggest critique.

I’ll always see myself as more of the back-yard c**t starter; Or the one who found an interest in mustangs as it became trendy.
I’ll always see myself as “just getting started” and low-end.
I’ll always wish I was a little more handy, or I’d grown up with different opportunities.
I’ll always promote others, as if I’m not worth the wait.

But I know dang well these things aren’t the case, and I’m learning to recognize that.

I have some phenomenal people who have and continue to believe in me, and I feel like I have a small army of folks who relentlessly promote me whether I’m booked or not.

I don’t have the high-end papered ponies, the indoor arena, the living quarters or the extravagant background..

I have a good handful of horses who are better after their time spent with me.
I have a good handful of soft, willing and eager horses with solid foundations on my resume.

Thick skinned and strong willed
Grow a backbone, stay firm in your beliefs
And stick to your guns

I hope you're tender
Willing to bend when the cold wind blows
Soft and gentle, able to see their side
Full of awe and wonder for the world around you

I hope you're full of grit
Determined to do your best
Never letting "quit" and "can't" enter your vocabulary

I hope you understand that the truth doesn't always match "your truth"
And that everyone's perspective is different from where they stand

I hope you guard your heart, and trust wisely
Love fully, and with integrity
I hope you make mistakes, and learn from them

Most of all, I hope you find peace and happiness

Feelin’ a little like I wait around all day for the arena to thaw on the days I don’t haul out, only to be up all night under the lights getting horses ridden.

Nonetheless, I am thankful. Thankful for well fed horses, the best assistant, fantastic clients, some incredible opportunities and dinner delivered to the tack room 🤍

In addition to the new Running O horses, this little Beatys Butte Mustang made his way to Mantese Ranch too.

His owner has goals to ride national parks all over the place. He’s here for some fitness, confidence and a little continuing education.

Every year I’m taken back a little.

Cheyenne AKA Piggy has come a lonnnng way in managing anxiety, and being more confident.

Next time her feet are done, she’ll stand like a champ. Piggy stood phenomenally ground tied and in the rain. 💅
