Roscoe has been waiting over 2 years for his forever home—and we know the right one is out there. He’s about 3–4 years old, neutered, fully vetted, and ready to be someone’s loyal adventure buddy.

Roscoe is playful, smart, and very food motivated—he learns quickly and loves a challenge (especially when snacks are involved). He gets along with most dogs but can be a little selective. No cats, though—he has a strong prey drive and needs a cat-free home.

🐕 Roscoe needs an experienced dog owner who can give him structure, continued training, and confidence. He’s not suited for first-time dog owners, but he’ll thrive with someone who understands him.

UPDATE 12/12/25 - SHE IS ADOPTED!!

Everyone who knows Hart County Humane Society knows Willow, our longest resident— a gentle, soulful girl who has grown up here at our sanctuary... watching younger, “cuter” dogs get chosen while she quietly hopes maybe today will be her day...

Despite trying a home or two, Willow has been brought back to us simply because she’s a bit nervous and needs someone patient enough to let her bloom and listen to what she needs 🌻

✨ Who Willow Truly Is:
• A sweet, sensitive girl who needs time to decompress — about 2 months to fully feel safe in a new home
• Just shy and unsure of the world (She's been in the same place & same routine for 6 whole years!)
• Afraid of young children (they move a little too fast and spook her)
• A professional couch potato who also enjoys a daily walk
• A total star when the leash comes out — she truly lights up! 🤩
• A proud graduate of PetSmart Basic Obedience — she knows sit, stay, and walks beautifully
• And most importantly… a dog who has never known the love of a real family, but wants it so badly 💔

Our volunteers adore her. They’ve watched her grow from a scared puppy into a loyal, tender-hearted girl who just needs someone willing to give her the chance she’s never had! You can imagine how scary it must be to go from the only thing you've known your whole life to a sudden change in pace, new routine, new people, new smells... It is terrifying!

🐾 Willow is available to FOSTER or ADOPT.
We highly encourage fostering first so she can settle in and you can be sure she’s the right match before making her officially part of your family.

In just three hours yesterday, 12 dogs entered our shelter. Twelve. In a shelter with 24 dog runs and 12 puppy areas that was already housing 47 pups. Do the math on that and understand our situation. Every run is full, most with multiple dogs, and more dogs are expected to come in today.😥

Until our community takes action and alters all animals, regardless of whether they live indoors or outdoors...on a farm or in town...with other animals or not...we are fighting a losing fight. We work tirelessly to save as many as we can. That is our organization's mission. But by ourselves, we can't save them all. We offer free and low-cost spay and neuter procedures for Madison and Oglethorpe Counties, and we accept spay/neuter vouchers. Encourage your friends and neighbors with unaltered animals to take advantage of these services.

❤️Until then, we will continue working relentlessly for the voiceless who are brought to us. We will care for them. Medicate them. Feed them. And love them until they leave our shelter one way or another.
