SAKO VOM SMITH PAK
EOW 12/25/24
After a tragic accident, Sako was killed last night. She was in training and was going to be working in the Portland/Beaverton/Hillsboro area for Narcotics Detection. Thank you so much to the Officers that came out for her. Rest in Peace sweet little girl.
We had an amazing week…Ships, Emergencies, Public Safety, ASCT Advanced Conference, Biden Sweeps, County Call Outs…Loving our life with our dogs!
Truman and I spent some time together in Seattle and Portland. We had to do our introduction and training at Pier 91, getting ready for cruise season to start. He got to explore and see all of the port and the terminal. We then went to Portland to see some of our handlers there and get a new dog for a client. Truman is a 5 month old puppy with such a solid foundation and so much confidence. We trained while we were there and had a great time…he even found drug paraphernalia in Portland…go figure…what a good boy. He is my future narcotics detection dog…killing it at 5 mos old. He is a third generation Smith Pak puppy…Titan my very first narcotics detection dog, who is now retired is his grandpa and Zyler my explosive detection dog is his dad…three generations of amazing working dogs. Watch for greater things from this puppy!!!
4.5 mos old and searching like a champion…Truman the Rock Star! He found 3 odors today in his first big building search. Imprinting and Environmentals are so important when you are training detection dogs, especially puppies. I am so proud of the dogs that I breed and are able to train to be rock solid detection dogs.
When you have a 9 week old Mal…this is what a minute walk looks like!
Help us name our new Mal puppy - She is 8 weeks old and will be one of our detection dogs! Comment below with your name ideas…
We have the best job! We get to work with our dogs everyday, searching various places in Spokane and the surrounding areas. Nothing better than being a K9 Handler and having an incredible partner!
Truman and I playing at the park Downtown Spokane today!
Thank you Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington for having us as your guest today.
We loved sharing Xia our 3.5 mo old puppy with all of you and teaching you how to approach dogs, best ways to care for them and how to be a great companion.
We also loved sharing with you all of the things you can do using dogs in the community.
We enjoyed sharing with you opportunities as females, the job opportunities available when working with dogs.
You can do anything you set your mind to…Thank you for allowing us to share with you all of our dogs, what we do with the dogs and letting Mako do a search for you!
