Rott Karma’s Tinsel (formerly Winter)

Rott Karma’s Winter is the pup that we chose to add to our pack, now Rott Karma’s Tinsel.

She quickly bonded to my 5 year old and that was all it took for me to decide. You may remember at just 10 days old I posted a video of my daughter rocking a puppy to sleep. It was during that moment my daughter said “Mommy I think this is the puppy we should keep” and I made a mental note as I watched the pups grow into their little personalities. My mini dog whisperer was right and Tinsel was the perfect fit for our pack.

Tinsel has no trouble putting her littermates in their place when they get too rough, she is confident, playful and loves snuggles. We can’t wait to watch her grow with our pack 🥰

Rott Karma’s Cider

This boy is sweet as can be, but he doesn’t play around when it comes to his food.

I work hard with pups to make sure there’s no issues when it comes to food. They eat in different groups, different times, places, while being pet, etc.

Cider can sometimes be too pushy with the others when the food is around. He will definitely benefit from a home that is willing to put in a little extra work when it comes to food. How so? Hand feeding, using snuffle mats, food puzzles, slow feeders, etc. Having to work for his food, and switching up feedings so he’s not expecting every meal to come from a bowl could make a big difference for this boy.

It’s looks like nothing, but these moments are so important. Sage is 3 and she knows our property boundaries. But having her unload groceries with me is a training moment. None of my dogs are allowed in the driveway, it’s out of their boundary lines because we are so close to a very busy main road. Sage knows to stay close and when I say “cmon girl” and she doesn’t disappoint.

Unloading groceries is one of the few times our dogs are allowed in the driveway. Once I opened the door and told her “cmon” I didn’t have to give another command, she stayed close and followed my lead just like I would expect. Good girl Sagey 🥰

Tired pups from destroying the whelping area that I had just cleaned for them 😂

Since I brought home Spirit every time I take her out to the bathroom I’ll say “go pee” or “go poop” and when she does she gets immediate praise “yesss” and is rewarded with a piece of kibble.

It seems so little, but it’s really a big piece of training. Karma & Sage now at 4 and 3 years old can be literally in the middle of playing and if they’re told “go pee” they will stop what they’re doing and go on command.

This is great for simple things like not sitting out in the freezing cold waiting. But it’s also awesome for things like long car rides or when you need to be able to collect a urine sample.

30 minutes of cleaning for them to dirty it up in less than 5 minutes 😂 Today not only did they dump the food but they decided to dump the water too 🤦‍♀️

Each morning I wake up to the cutest faces sitting in the biggest mess 😂 They get fed, crated, whelping area cleaned, and then 4 different pups uncrated and moved to the whelping area just to see how quickly they can make another mess for me to clean lol.
Pups now go to the whelping area in smaller groups and are swapped around throughout the day/night.
