Making these posts never gets easier 😞 This part of the job just plain sucks.

Baloo’s family had to say goodbye to him today, and to say we are heartbroken is a gigantic understatement. Baloo has always been a fan favorite and it’s pretty obvious why. His electric smile and his unbearable fluffiness are only a few reasons why followers from every corner of the world have found joy in seeing pictures and videos of this boy.

His personality is what has always made my heart swell. When I would get to his house in the morning to pick him up, he would show me his front teeth in a big wide grin and sneeze about a thousand times as he came over to me to greet me and say good morning. At camp, his signature play move was to literally Superman his body through the air with his front paws held out wide in the goofiest, silliest display of joy. His happiness was contagious, and anytime I would have a friend or family member join me for the day at camp they would instantly fall in love with Baloo. He was just so dang easy to love ❤️

While I know he lived a very long and happy life and was truly loved beyond words, it’s still just so devastating to lose him. I know that our previous campers who have crossed the bridge before him will be there to welcome him and show him the ropes.

What an honor it has been to watch him grow old and to have spent my days outside with him, soaking up the pure joy that he radiates. We love you, Baloo and you will always be remembered ❤️

Local friends are in for a treat!!!!

Have you heard the word?? Cafe Mamajuana is planning to open a Latinesque Diner in the heart of Colchester! Ample parking, 4x the seating and a whole lot of ! A true Mom & Pop shop.

It will be a few months until we are ready to launch but we couldn’t be more excited. I grew up a restaurant kid myself— a South Jersey girl in a town directly on the border of Philadelphia. Diners are a trademark of my sense of place and culture and so I couldn’t be more excited to put my spin on what was my typical Saturday morning growing up.

I even told my parents that I was expecting my daughter Ayla in this exact diner nearly 4 years ago! I have found so much joy in this project and it’s only just beginning.

This new spot is a family affair— featuring Geovann’s infamous smoked meats, our shared Dominican culture and will bring my Italian American heritage to the forefront!

Stay tuned for what is sure to be Vermonts’ most delicious, curious and exciting eatery to date. I will be bringing my A game. A sprinkle of magic!

Do you dream of taking your dog hiking leash free?
Do you want your dog to be able to play with friends but know he will come back?
Do you want your dog to be able to go to family BBQs and know they won’t take off?

Well let’s make that a reality!

We will be offering a 4 week group class on all things recall! You will learn to properly e collar condition your dog. Once your dog is conditioned and understands the collar pressure then we will start to “proof” the command. We will work up to off leash reliability.

Each week you will get homework to prepare you for the next weeks class.

This will be a FUN experience for you and your dog. Which will ultimately lead to even more carefree adventures.

It will be rain or shine outside.

Cost: $500 (includes high quality e collar, long line, treat pouch, & freeze dried treats $250+ value)

Located: Barre Town Elementary School

Time: 5:30- 6:30 pm
Dates: Wednesdays

Came home from our vacation to some heartbreaking news… Harley’s family had to say goodbye to him over the weekend, and we are just crushed. I can’t even begin to convey the sadness we feel for Harley’s family or express how deeply the loss of his presence out at camp will be felt.

Harley has been a staple of the GMCC family for nearly a decade. He was one of the original campers to join in the first years of running my business and I loved him from the very moment I met him. His outward appearance was that which made strangers cross the street when I used to leash walk him in Winooski , but his heart and his personality were so goofy and infectious that you became instantly enamored with him.

Harley had an infinite list of nicknames, was an absolute powerhouse of athleticism in his younger years, an agile swimmer, expert digger, stick destroyer, and all around master of disguise with his telltale trick of turning himself into a crocodile the second he layed down in the river. He truly lived his very best life, right up until the end.

Oh Harley, what I wouldn’t give to smooch that sweet face of yours one more time.

Please send our love to your fellow campers who are waiting for you on the other side… I know they greeted you with wagging tails and a speedy game of chase.

Rest is peace, Sir Harlesworth. You were one of the greats 💔

There are so so many wonderful things about this job, but the absolute worst part of it is saying goodbye to our pack members. Riley’s family lost him unexpectedly this week, and heartbroken doesn’t even begin to cover how we feel over this loss.

When Riley joined our pack, I immediately knew he would be a great fit. He was speedy and happy and oh so easy to love. Over the years we watched him gain confidence in the water and become so relaxed and happy around the pack members. He helped me train and welcome so many new friends into our pack, and I am so incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to spend time with such a joyful soul. Riley boy, you will be missed beyond words. Say hello to all of the other GMCC angels up there and know that you will always be with us on the trail ❤️

First and foremost, the dog vibes are ON POINT. Our OG camper, Gretzky, aka Bubba, is everywhere in this establishment. It’s heartwarming (and also heartbreaking). His predecessor, Kurri (current camper), is everywhere too.

This majestic, pure, and beautiful soul left us unexpectedly yesterday. We could not be more heartbroken. My heart aches for his family. If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Hugo, your heart is aching right now too. He was pure light. The happiest, silliest guy in the room. Always.

No matter the temperature, if the sun was shining, Hugo could be found basking outdoors in the sunlight. He was a lover of life. An amazing big brother to his two human sisters, the most devoted companion, and the kindest soul. Hugo could make absolutely every dog at our camp love him, from the independent to the hyper, he wore them all down and got everyone to frolic with him at some point. He really just had an energy and personality that everyone was drawn to, both human and canine alike.

That energy, along with his majestic flowing mane, will be missed more than words can describe. Please say a little prayer for this special boy as he embarks on this next journey in the afterlife. We love you, Hugo, always and forever.
