$75 off Spay/Neuter surgeries for Pit Bulls or Pit mixes. Branch County Animal Control has been overwhelmed with Pit Bulls and Pit mix breeds. All of the stray dogs from Branch and Hillsdale Counties come to Branch County Animal Control, so in an effort to help, The Humane Society has teamed up with Branch Area Rescue Coalition (BARC) the low cost spay and neuter program and Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan (RPSM). We have all donated money to help with this project. If you have a Pit or Pit mix please call the BARC program – 517-227-7288 – or email BARC at @gmail.com to make arrangements to save $75. This program is just for Pit/Pit mixes from Branch or Hillsdale Counties. Thank you!!

BARC will be at Family Farm & Home from 10:00 - 2:00 this Saturday, July 13th to collect your donations. We have been swamped with spay/neuter help requests. Your donation will help us help more people with their pets. And, you will have a cleaned out garage! As always, thank you for your continued support.

Looking for a place to take your cans & bottles after the graduation party, after you clean out the garage or to a place you don't have to wait in line in the bottle return room? Bring your returnable cans and bottles to Family Farm & Home on June 8th and donate them to BARC. We are also accepting dry cat food donations for our outreach program. If you're looking to get a cat voucher to spay/neuter your cat, we will also have them available for $75. BARC volunteers thank you for your support.

We are so excited to announce that the Family Affair program is back! A HUGE thank you to the The Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust, a KeyBank Trust, for providing the generous grant funding that makes this program possible.

With this program, mom is spayed for $75 and each kitten is only $5 dollars. See the posted photo for details and requirements of the program.

Appointments are required, please call on Mondays at 9am and leave a message. 313-451-8200 to request an appointment. Please mention "Family affair." We call back in the order in which received. If you do not receive a call by Thursday that means we've filled all appointments for that week, please call again the following Monday.

Available while grant funding lasts.

FORGIVE ME, MOMMY 😢🐾…
I was there where you left me for two whole days. Sleeping right on the side of the road. I was terrified of the noise from the cars but I did not move.
Last night one of those cars stopped and she got out. She invited me to lunch but I said no. She invited me to come sleep at her house and I also said no. I tried to explain to her that I was waiting for you but she wouldn’t listen. She pulled out a leash and said I couldn’t stay there any longer. I bit her several times and ended up peeing on myself as I growled and cried! She didn’t understand that she was separating me from you! She took me against my will and we drove off! I was so sad because I knew you were going to be worried. We ended up at her house.
I kept screaming hoping you would hear me but you never came. I vomited because of my nerves, feeling so sick. I kept telling her I had to go back because you were going to think I abandoned you when you saw I wasn’t there! I, who love you with all my heart and soul have not stopped crying since we separated a few days ago. I want you to know, I would never do that to you.
I don’t know where you are now or why you stopped the car and left me there. Surely you had something very important to do. Can you come find me now, mommy?
Today I ate because my tummy was hurting. I also slept on a very soft bed. And by accident I also wiggled my tail a bit. I’m so sorry, please forgive me. She’s just being really nice to me. She said I could stay forever. She’s calling me Savannah, but I already have a name. When you pick me up you can tell it to her. You’ll see how surprised she’ll be when you explain to her that this was a big mistake.
Because mommy, you’re coming back for me, right 😢?
