The Truth About Wildlife Rehab Facilities

If you've ever found an injured animal or an abandoned nest of baby critters, your first thought may be to look up your local wildlife rehab for help. But there are some things to know. First, they may pick up your injured wildlife with the intent of feeding it to the birds of prey they are also rehabilitating. All rehabilitators have specific licenses, so find out what they are licensed for before you hand over the precious critter you just rescued. And second, they are bound to euthanizing any critter that cannot be rehabilitated back into the wild. So the beautiful bunny pictured here would not be alive today if I had turned it over to a rehabilitator. She would either have been lunch or discarded as unfit.

I don't recommend disobeying the law, but I do recommend following your heart and your conscience.

Miss Violet has finally found her new family 🩷🩷. She has become such a grown up young lady and has such a beautiful life ahead of her. We are so happy for her and the sweet couple that adopted her.

And for now we are empty puppy nesters....

Our puppy playpen stands quiet and empty now. It was a lifetime ago that 10 beautiful babies were born and changed our world. For the record, Nate cried even more times than I did ❤️. But that's what good breeders do.

**Violet is still with us until she finds her home, but she is a part of our crazy crew being raised in the main part of the house now. She has such an amazing temperament that I'm considering checking into therapy dog training for her if she doesn't get adopted.

Our sweet Sunshine has died. She gave us many good years and was the bright part of each day, waking us up early in the morning, whether we wanted to or not....until she became too old and decided to sleep in with us.
She waited to go today until we both held her, and so I'm crying my eyes out. I didn't just lose a sweet bird...her passing is the end of a very special era for me too.
Some people don't believe animals go to heaven, but why would God create new ones for up there, when He can just bring the ones we love there to wait for us. If God is preparing a home for us in heaven....He knows it wouldn't be home without the ones we love.
We miss you dear Sunshine 💛💛

The last three babies from our litter ❤️ They have received extra training since they have been with us for a couple extra weeks. All three are wonderful family dogs, love people of all ages, great with adult dogs, very healthy and happy.

This is such a fun game to play with your puppy, old or young, and all you need is some training treats. Simply hide a handful of training treats (if you have more than one dog, use one handful for each) around one of your rooms, low enough to easily sniff out and reach. It's even more fun for them if they are on the other side of a gate and can see you hiding the treats. Then release them into the room and sit back and enjoy their fun 🙂.

Through no fault of her own, beautiful Buttercup is back up for discussion. This girl is smart as a whip, gorgeous, almost the smitten image of her mama when she was a puppy, playfully energetic, loves people more than anything, and is ready for a family to love her back. Alfalfa is enjoying getting some training with treats today. So far he has learned to sit and now we are working on shake.

His sister Violet has already learned sit and shake. Watch for a video later on today with Miss Violet showing off her new skills.

Indigo, Daisy, and Trillium had an adventurous day yesterday at Phoenix Park in Eau Claire for the food truck event. We sat down in the shade to eat our lunch and it took about 30 seconds to be surrounded by a crowd. 🤗

Violet is waiting to be chosen 💜💜
She's smart, spunky, happy, and she smothers kisses on anyone that will pick her up. She is 8 weeks old now! Everyone visited the vet a couple days ago and Violet had an excellent health report. With puppies running and exploring the exam room, it was a wild visit 🤪

In case you were wondering how intelligent Aussies are....this young lady is only 6 weeks old. I had to stop the video so I could catch her before she jumped off the other side 😳 She decided she wanted to be outside the play area with her dad.

Alfalfa...just minding his own business - but Violet had different ideas 😆. Don't feel badly for the Alfalfa though. He's done his fair share of surprise attacks 😉

Lilly is such a good mama ❤️❤️ She was so happy to be outside with her kids today.
