O just had her first power float AND she taped in at 2000 pounds 🥹👏🏻😂 Big girl stuff at 4 years old!

She didn’t need any serious work done, just a little touch up to keep her smile as it should be. Even with the happy juice, she was flexing the speculum (it’s airplane grade aluminum) and got it to close a wee bit 🫣

For reference, the sides of the speculum come up to a mini’s eye - no danger though, it’s extra-wide. The power tool our Vet uses is very cool too. It’s battery powered and has a vacuum and water hookup to control dust and maintain visibility. It would all be worthless without our awesome DVM 💛

She’s 4 this year, just shy of 18H and a bit over 1900 #. She’s an athletic and energetic drafty girl!

Deighton Jodie (by Clarach Gay Aristocrat) at age 23. She really isn’t slowing down yet! Her teeth are great, she still easily trots and canters and her sight and hearing are good. She’ll be boss mare for quite a while longer!

Ophelia’s been prepping for show season. She has monthly adjustments with Dr. Rieck from Seven Acre Chiropractic. We did the majority of her work in the barn, but moved outside for a bit more room for our growthy young lady 🥰 That’s just one of the things I love about Dr Taylor - she is extremely in tune with the horses and also flexible - she’s willing to work around their needs as individuals in order to get the best results ❤️

Next up on her schedule…acupuncture, massage, reiki and a bit/bridle fitting!

First afternoon at the show. Ophelia is amazing. She got her first full bath this morning and was perfect, loaded right up and hauled like a pro in the new trailer, waited patiently to get through the fair red tape, walked right past the llamas getting baths, past the strollers, met new friends (young and old), took a couple naps and is trying to eat an entire bale of hay by midnight. She’s absolutely perfect. This weekend was a win no matter what else it brings ❤️
