2024 Colts Care Community Service Day: R44 FFA, FCCLA, and Student Council led the entire jr/sr high school and staff through 12 service projects. 2280 lbs of pasta repackaged and 540 sugar cookies for Great Plains Food Bank, 39 blankets for Project Linus, cleaned storage garage at the Perry Center, caroled and delivered 162 plants to 3 retirement homes, built 2 gun stands for the trap team, and built shelving for both the stage and the athletic storage room. Also cleaned and built shelves at the Colfax Community Center. Furthermore, students made monster cookies and sold for a local animal shelter and started making 20 card holders for senior citizens. Proud to be from Richland 44!

Congrats to the 35 Richland 44 FFA members who competed today at UM-Crookston. Great job Gigi U. for placing 3rd in the Floriculture event and the team for taking 2nd place. More results soon.

Congrats to Kiersten Boehm for earning her American FFA degree! This is the pinnacle of FFA degrees and is earned through hard work during a successful FFA career. Way to keep pushing the standard forward.

National FFA Agri-Science Fair results: Cody Boehm placed 9th with his project “The effects of Coffee Cherry on the Consumer Preference of Strawberry Smoothies”. Kalie Boehm earned 8th. Her project was titled “The effects of Various Sanitation Methods on Triticum estivum flour”. Both took a silver rating. Way to keep pushing our R44 FFA tradition!

Richland 44 FFA National GOLD RUSH 2024 so far: Food Sci team placed silver. Eric Moen and Kalie Boehm received silver awards while Nick Wulfekuhle and Cody Boehm received gold awards. Great job representing yourself, chapter, and state!

Richland 44 GOLD RUSH complete. Congratulations to the state champion Food Science team of Nick (2nd), Cody (3rd), Cora (4th), Kalie (10th), and Eric (25), all earning gold pins. Now on to nationals! Great job Wade for taking 1st place and earning a Baby Bison trophy in Advanced Ag Mech. Nick (4th-gold), Julianne, and Payton took 13th and silver in nursery/landscape. The Env./Nat. Resource team placed 12th/silver with Ethan (9th-gold), Ali (43-gold), and Julianne, Payton and Carter (silvers). In Small Animal Care, Carter (15-gold) led the team to a silver rating, along with Lexi, Laiken and Austen. The Floral team took 21st with Lila, Gigi, Abbie, and Kenley all earning silver. Eli (silver) and Ryan competed in Farm/Business management, and Lincoln competed in Dairy Cattle and 9th Grade Ag Mech. A GREAT convention celebrated with ice cream.

Richland 44 FFA GOLD RUSH Day 3. Congrats to Nick for being honored as a State Star in Ag Business finalist. Great job representing yourself, family, and chapter. Congrats to Nick, Wade, and Eric for earning the State FFA Degree, the highest degree awarded at the state level, as a compilation of a terrific 6 yrs in FFA/Ag. Tons of awards tomorrow on day 4 of the State FFA Convention.

Richland 44 FFA GOLD RUSH 2024! State FFA Convention and awards are coming in. Congrats to Kalie and Cody for advancing to nationals in Ag Sci Fair as state champions. Cora was also gold with Julianne and Nick placing silver. Nick and Addie are state champs in their respective proficiency awards while Taylor, Eric, Wade, Ryley, and Cora were state finalists. Congrats to Kalie and the chapter for earning a gold award in the Food for America program and the entire chapter for the gold and state finalist Superior Chapter award. More awards tonight!

Hope Blooms is an awesome charity in Fargo that repurposes flowers for nursing homes, hospitals, and more. Richland 44 FFA members donated 198 succulents today and had a great time touring their facility and visiting with staff. Thanks to Kelly and Katie for all you do to spread joy and we look forward to more projects together.

Richland 44 FFA has had a busy fall so far. A huge thanks to all the farmers who donated soybeans today during our Harvest for Life event. Funds raised will support the many community service projects we do this year. Congrats to the chapter for earning the “baby bison” as the FFA chapter that raised the most money for the state FFA Great Plains Food Bank fund drive. Thanks to four of our members for attending the Fall Leadership Conference in Bismarck. Thanks to those who participated in Drive Your Tractor to School Day and those who helped with the Kiss the Pony event that raised $158 for SIDS research. Finally members had a great time at Thunder Road. Let’s keep up the great work!

This past weekend, we had our FFA Officer Retreat at Fort Ransom preparing for this next school year and making lots of memories!
