💙💙 Family Update 💙💙
Many of you know this already because you’ve had recent reservations, but one week ago our new little boy joined the world! We made it to May, but he was still a couple weeks early. (4 weeks early)

✨ Ezra Dana Arnold ✨ May 4th, 2024 ✨

We are all smitten and Bryce adores his little brother, though he hasn’t spent much time with him yet. Maizy has also not met him yet, but I am confident she’ll love him as much as we do!

His arrival was almost exactly a week after Greta’s passing 😭. It saddens me that she didn’t get to meet him.

Ezra is still in the hospital in Eau Claire feeding, growing and maturing enough to come home.
That said, you won’t see much of me until he’s home, but Justin is doing an amazing job caring for your pups and I couldn’t be more grateful. With Justin handling all of the dog care, drop offs, pickups etc, appointment times are crucial, and any special instructions should be communicated at drop off. You will still be hearing from me to organize things!

💵 At this time (until I am home) payment will need to be made with cash, check, or Venmo. 💵

Greta - January 11, 2008 - April 26, 2024 💔😭

Today may have been the hardest day of my life so far. Today we said goodbye to the constant, steadfast, staple in our lives… Greta 😭
16.5 years is a long time for any dog and leaves a huge void when they’re gone. Watching her deteriorate over the last few months has been really hard. I know a lot of you could see it too.
But what a life she had!! She took a plane ride from Boise, Idaho to Norfolk, Virginia when she was 8 weeks old and stole our hearts immediately 😍. She was feisty, spunky, eager to please and easy to train.
She was always a social dog, so she literally made hundreds of friends in her life.
She is the namesake of this business, and man, what a legacy! Greta's Play & Stay, LLC would not be what it is without her. Our entire philosophy of care is based on what I wanted for her when I needed her cared for. She was too social to not get to play with friends!
She definitely had her struggles too, but she was resilient through them all.
She was one of a kind for sure and she will be deeply missed 💔😭.

To those of you who knew her, you feel our void and I would love to hear some of your favorite memories of her!

Goodbye for now sweet girl. We love you and will never ever forget you. 💔😭
The hardest part of loving them is letting them go.

It’s been a wild week! No less than 18 dogs any given day 🤪 (some days more like 20+) Most of these pups go home tomorrow leaving a few openings for next week (March 18-24) for more spring breakers! If you’re in need of care, I AM taking new clients still through the end of April!

📣Maizy has a very important announcement to make! 📣

As many of you already know from an earlier post, our family is expecting a baby early this summer! 👶🍼💙
With the rapidly approaching addition of this little one, we have made the tough decision to only accept current and established client reservations for the months of May and June 2024 🥺. ❤️WE WILL STILL BE OPEN❤️, just no new clients during those months. This will offer my husband and our hired help some consistency if they are familiar with the dogs they are caring for. This will also give me some peace of mind while I recover and focus most of my attention on baby. I will post an update as soon as I feel comfortable accepting new clients again, but will likely be in time for the July 4th holiday.

A couple things to note!
🐾 A New Client is a dog or family of dogs that have never stayed with us before.

🐾 If you are a new client and you already have a reservation booked for your dog(s) during those months, no worries you are still good to go and we look forward to having your pups! (Thank you for booking early! 🥰)

🐾 If you have a reservation need that begins in April and extends into May, we are still happy to help!

Man, it’s been a while since I posted the fun we have here!! So we’ll start fresh with sharing some of the fun we had in January! I have been terrible about taking pictures 🙈 so if your pup was here and you don’t see them in this post, I’m sorry 🤦‍♀️.
It’s been an interesting start to the year and we are looking forward to the coming months. We had a few new pups this month!

Our sweet Greta is 16 today!! 🤯🤩🥳
She’s pretty much been the best dog ever! She’s had an incredible life and been through so much. She’s definitely starting to show her age, and for now she is comfortable and happy 🥰. We are grateful for whatever time we have left with her. If she’s awake the next time you’re in, make sure to give her some extra love ❤️.

It's that time again! END OF YEAR🤯 announcement time!! There are some BIG things happening in 2024! So buckle up because it's going to be a wild ride!! 🤩🙌🐶🐾 (please read the entire post!)

💥We will be CLOSED beginning February 3, 2024 to reopen on February 12, 2024 for our annual family vacation! We appreciate your understanding for our need for time away🫶.

💥Prices will be increasing in 2024, so please be sure to check the website or feel free to reach out to discuss the changes. We will continue to offer our military and first responder discount to honor our heroes! 🇺🇸

💥Credit card payment link for reservation deposits has gotten very expensive. Therefore, we have decided a convenience fee will be required for this. A 4% convenience fee will be added to the deposit if this method is chosen by the client. Venmo, check and cash are preferred methods of payment. **Convenience fee DOES NOT apply to credit card swipe transactions for card payment at pick up**

💥Last and probably the most exciting is... WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!🤩😱 Baby is due May 30, 2024!! Of course this is only an estimate. We appreciate your flexibility with drop off/pick up times due to appointments, and your understanding if things need to change suddenly. We are going to do our best to remain open (my husband taking over at times) and continue taking new clients. Again, we appreciate your understanding and flexibility!

2023 was a record year in many ways and we can't wait to see all that 2024 has in store! We are still planning our expansion, but it's taking longer than we hoped to get things moving. Thank you for being INCREDIBLE clients for sowing into our project! Even if the project gets put on hold, what you have sown has been set aside. THANK YOU!!

Rex, Ivy, Murphy and Trapper are flying in with some 🚨BIG NEWS!! 🚨We are bursting at the seams and planning a MUCH needed expansion!! 😱🙌 We have an idea and the process is in the works, but we need the help of our amazing clients, new prospective clients, and fans to make this a reality! The down payment for the project is looking lofty, but we KNOW it will come together. Here’s how you can help:
🐶 Prepay for any 2024 reservation (at 2023 prices!!) - this will also secure your space for the dates you need.
🐾 Make payment toward your account for later use (dollar for dollar credit)
🐶 Make a donation of any amount!
🐾 Just continue to get on our schedule! Because that’s what we are here for and we can’t do it without you ❤️🐾

Wow! It’s been a while and I have A LOT of catching up to do!! For now though, I wanted to make sure everyone is aware that we are‼️CLOSED OCTOBER 20-23‼️With availability again October 24th.

ALSO, please start planning ahead for Thanksgiving and Christmas and remember those stays are a minimum of 2.5 days of care as we are closed the day of each respective holiday.

Oh Maggie. The bird dog is strong in this one! Such a sweet, goofy, adaptable girl! Maggie (aka Margaret, Maggie Lou, Mags) is very special! She’s a long term boarder while her family works for the summer in Montana. Some of you may remember her from 2021 when she did a ling stent with us too. 66 days is a long time! But you’d never know. She had a blast! It was a bittersweet “see ya next time Mags!” yesterday. She played hard, loved harder and caught a few critters this summer! We love her and can’t wait to have her again! ❤️🐾

Holy Black Dogs Batman! In the span of a full week, we had 9 (yes 9!!) Black Lab or black lab mixes 🤯🐾. These black beauties are ball crazy, fetching machines, who love to have fun, splash in the pool and are generally very good friends with other dogs! They are affectionately known as the ! They were all part of a large social group of 17 dogs!! Not one scuffle or argument over the ball, just run run run!!

BEAGLES!! Over Memorial Day we had FIVE beagles! Lots of rabbit chasing, cuddles, and aahooos! ❤️
Since then we’ve had more beagles come visit and stay as well!

Let’s talk PUPPIES 😍🐾🐶
I get a lot of questions about if I take puppies: Do I take puppies at all? How young do I take them? What about vaccines? What about potty training? Well, I thought I would give a little insight into how I handle puppies!

As you can see by the overload of cuteness here, yes! Puppies are welcome! In fact we LOVE puppies and can’t get enough 😂.

🐶 I will take puppies as young as you need me to. HOWEVER, I must stress some very important things:
1. Your new puppy (8-10 weeks) needs to have been to see a veterinarian since obtaining it. Meaning a vet check WITH YOU is required.
2. This environment can be stressful on a brand new puppy who isn’t really sure what the world is yet. Talk to your veterinarian prior to daycare or boarding your puppy under 10 weeks of age.
3. Illnesses are everywhere! There is a reason the distemper/parvo vaccine has 3 doses. Boarding in any facility with outdoor space poses a risk to a puppy that is not fully vaccinated. Talk to your veterinarian before enrolling in daycare or boarding your puppy.

I require puppies to be up to date on AGE APPROPRIATE vaccines. I can’t stress the veterinarian relationship enough!! Talk to your vet before boarding your puppy!
Daycare is excellent for socializing your puppy but there is a fine line between when it is safe and when it might not be.

🐶 Potty training - your puppy will have accidents in the kennel here. That’s OK! Extra diligence should be taken once your puppy returns home.

Bonding with you in those early weeks is more important than daycare. But if you need me I’m here for you!
