What do you do on a rainy, cold day? Place training in the house, of course! Getting some good practice in with distractions! Mimicking the things you do in your home so that your dogs know how to place calmly throughout common household distractions. 🛋 🐈 🥘

Gibbs is mastering his down stays as well as proper greeting from people and small kids, he’s turning into such a sweetheart now that we are helping him to address his anxiety and better understand the world around him through communication. ❤️❤️❤️💪💪💪

Our new service and therapy puppies in training acclimated to the puppy stroller today!!
They got to eat treats, zipped in and went on a short ride. The puppy stroller allows us to begin early socialization with puppies, without risking exposure to viruses and diseases as our puppies are not yet fully vaccinated. ❤️❤️ in a couple of days the girls will go on their first outing in their new stroller. 💪💪 🐕‍🦺

Meet Dapper Dan! He’s a Cocker Spaniel with some very rare markings, he’s called a phantom! This phantom is SUPER smart, he mastered sit, down and place on his first day!! 💪💪 can’t wait to see what this little guy will do as he excels in our program. ❤️❤️🐕‍🦺

Gibbs is a Chocolate lab/ Catouhula mix, he was a little scared when he first arrived, but boy is he coming out of his shell! Because it’s not just about what the dog can do, it’s about how the dog feels about it while he’s doing it!

We teach dogs that obedience isn’t just about control, but is a team sport, working for the owner is fun!! 💪💪🐶🐶🏆🏆

Kingsford has completed all of his training and is ready to head home. He’s been a unique dog, we had to think a little out of the box for this hound dog at a Labrador kennel. But, Mr. Kingsford has fully mastered his obedience tasks and is showing us what a fun loving sweetheart he can be.

Hardest part about this job: right when we get the dogs where we want them, they go home. 😭😭🏆🏆🐶🐶

The big wall of clear plastic movey thingys.... 😱😱😱😱
That’s what a lot of dogs think the first time the plastic strips move, but with treats and a fun, positive attitude, we make sure they they finish up feeling like running through these plastic sheets is a fun game! 💪💪❤️❤️❤️

Laney the therapy dog’s first outing. We are using our very basic obedience skills- sit and place today. Our primary goal is to build confidence in this new environment.

I teach therapy dogs to place on a target location for pets, so being comfortable placing on different kinds of surfaces is very important. Today Laney climbed into a small foldable chair and onto a wobbly cart. Great job Laney!!

Outing today at Lowe’s!! Social outings are esssential for Service and Therapy dogs in training, but, we like to include these in our companion dog training programs too!

Little Blue Puppy ❤️❤️❤️
Little Blue the Blue Lacey Puppy was doing as puppies do, using his mouth to express himself, but it had gotten to the point that his mouthing was leaving deep bloody marks on his Mom’s arm and making the kids afraid to pet him! 😱😱😱
After 5 weeks in Puppy Jump Start, Blue has a whole new, effective method of communication. He sits or downs in front of you now to ask for attention and affection, he follows people wherever they go instead of doing his own thing, and he offers good behavior in exchange for treats!!

Finally, his family can enjoy their puppy again!

Laney the white Golden Retriever is her for Adanced Obedience and evaluation for a Therapy dog. Her owner is a teacher who would love to take her to school so that she could assist with reading and other classroom skills.

Laney has such a sweet, lovable temperament!! ❤️❤️ she began this week practicing receiving pets from a down and having me invade her space while giving her the pets. This helps Laney to feel comfortable receiving all kinds of attention and affection, even fast paced, high energy attention like she might receive from school age children.

Blue, the Blue Lacey on his daily walk with a balanced dog after his puppy handling class!
Today he is walking with Bacon, the sweetest, most easygoing dog, ensuring that he feeds a balanced energy off of the other dogs.
Practicing our new sit for treats, haven’t taught a sit stay yet but he did pretty good for his first try! 💪💪❤️❤️

Sandy was purchased as a ready to go Companion dog. Crate trained, potty trained, off leash obedient. She’s been with her new family for about two weeks now and they report that she’s a “home run!”
She loves looking at herself in the mirror 🤣🤣❤️
She doesn’t chase deer or bark (living in the hill country).
She comes when called, wants to be with us and goes potty immediately upon going outside.

Great job Sandy! So happy for you, finding your forever family 💪❤️

Cole finished up his obedience training and got to go home to his family today!! His Momma was really missing him and was so excited to bring him home!!
It was great to see him light up when seeing his family, and his honest nature and pride in his work when he was showing off what he has learned.
Great work Coley Woley!! We will miss you! ❤️❤️
