We work with all kinds of sporting and working dogs. Today I went to the Woodlands to watch our patient Hope read with the children at the Woodlands library. Different from some of the common jobs we think of but the kids loved it and its a great job for a senior dog with an artificial leg. Permission to post from child's parent.

Who doesn't love a great story?? Well meet Astro. Astro is 1 of 3 dogs we are currently seeing with DM (Degenerative Myelopathy). He was diagnosed in late March of 2022 and started rehab in April of 2022. Shortly after starting rehab, his mom and dad found out they were expecting their first child. Now- Astro is his Dad's first dog. He was Dad's college roomate and best friend. So Dad's goal was for his first dog to meet his first child. With DM- from onset of symptoms (not diagnosis) -life expectancy averages 1-2 years with active rehab. Well Astro met his baby brother in February of 2023 and is still living his best life. There is no way to know how each DM patient will progress. But THESE are the stories that rehab is so excited and thankful to be a part of. Great job Astro! See you tomorrow for our weekly jog :)

Newcastle LOVES conditioning in the water but hates the water to leave. There's always a little time to have fun after working.
