The Stables at Millican Reserve is located on the south side of College Station. We offer customized full care boarding options for your horse.

We offer full care boarding and group pasture turnout with access to miles of trails to ride! Our large pastures offer groves of shade trees and large ponds. Customized feeding regimens ensure that your horse is kept happy and healthy during their stay. We are continuously working to make The Stables an enjoyable, safe and fun place to keep your beloved animal. The Stables also welcomes day and tr

ail riders through Conservancy membership. Our well-kept trails are suitable for horse and rider duos of all experience levels.

Why do some horses get cold feet?
…because they don’t have socks!

But our Millican horses have stayed snug and warm, munching on all the hay and taking a break to ever so patiently (😂) wait at the gates for their breakfast and dinner through our little winter week.
All in all, just a light dusting and a little ice that was mostly gone by this evening 🤗

❄️ Next week brings some even colder weather than last week and a chance of snow, along with our new interns for the spring semester! ❄️

All of the horses were cozied up in their blankets and stalls last night for the first of the 🥶chilly weather🥶

Water buckets were hung in stalls the day before yesterday and these past two mornings tell us that the horses are clearly enjoying them!
Salt has been and will continue to be fed during both feedings, and horses were each thrown some extra hay this morning before graining. I brought a cooler in yesterday evening filled with hot (warm by morning) water for soaking grain/refilling buckets for breakfast.
Everyone is looking great this morning and ready to have their blankets off for daytime turnout before we do it all over again tonight/tomorrow morning!

We have two open pasture board spots now available, are still accepting applications through this week for Spring semester interns, and have volunteer spots for the Spring semester available.

Horse Boarding and Trails

We offer customized full care boarding options for your horse. Our large pastures offer groves of shade trees and large ponds. A staff member lives on site to ensure round the clock care. Customized feeding regimens ensure that your horse is kept happy and healthy during their stay. We are continuously working to make The Stables an enjoyable, safe and fun place to keep your beloved animal.

The Stables also welcomes day and trail riders. All that is required is a $10.00 day fee, negative coggins, and signed release waiver. Our well-kept trails are suitable for horse and rider duos of all experience levels. Pens are available at the main barn for day riders to rest horses at a rate of $10/horse/day.
