A Valentine’s Tale: Dogs & Cats in Love by KPE

On Valentine’s Day, beneath the moon’s light,
A pup and a kitten sat cozy and tight.
Though one loved to frolic and chase every tail,
The other preferred a nap without fail.

The dog wagged his tail, so eager and true,
With eyes full of love, so golden and blue.
The cat stretched and purred, aloof yet divine,
With whiskers that twitched at each loving sign.

“You’re noisy and messy,” the kitty declared,
“You drool when you’re happy—you’ve fur everywhere!”
The dog only grinned, his heart full of cheer,
“For you, little cat, I’ll always be near.”

The feline just sighed but gave him a glance,
Then hopped to his side in a slow, sleepy dance.
She nuzzled his ear, so soft and so sweet,
A moment of love—so simple, so neat.

Though different as night and morning’s first light,
They curled up together, warm and so tight.
For love isn’t perfect, but oh, it is true—
And even opposites say, “I love you.”
