When you watch your brother get his nails clipped knowing you are next… 🙈😝

But really, Nellie has come a LONG way in her nail journey, from thrashing and screaming without the clippers even touching her yet to even naughty nippy behavior to STANDING politely and patiently without any restraint last night for her trim! Puppy jerky certainly has some majestic influence over here the past several months working with her!!

I. am. So. Proud. 🥹🐾 and SHE is proud of herself!!

On and ending note, August is BOOKED! There are a couple straggler appointments here n there but ultimately, August is closed off. Now taking September appointments under my new school year hours! (See pinned post)

New inquiring clients, if you have daytime flexibility, this is in your favor! My nighttime availability will be restricted and likely at this point be still filled with my existing client list. I am going through waitlisted friends and organizing, making communications, and doing all that “behind the scenes” work when I am not actively out servicing. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to bug me at this point, I am working as diligently and organized as I can but I also want to make sure I don’t miss anyone!

UPDATED HOURS ANNOUNCEMENT! 📣

For the majority of my business since 2021, I have been primarily limited to evening hours specifically due to the fact that I am a stay-at-home mom by day. In all bittersweetness, all 3 of my children are full-day school-aged this year, meaning that an extension of my availability had been added for the first time ever, starting this September! 👏🏼

Learning from mistakes, trials, and errors over time, this year I am fully committed to being sure there is both working hours available to cater to everyone’s schedule, as well as plenty of back-up hours to roll into should you or I both experience a sick day, snow day, or just unexpected schedule changes and not have to wait a prolonged period of time for a reschedule.

This year I am also really striving to be a present parent and cut back on evening hours when my kids get out of school, since my days are going to be primarily open. So if you have the ability to meet during the daytime, please be open to this when we schedule your visits, so I can save my evening availability for those who truly cannot meet any other time.

For the first few weeks of these new hours I will be navigating my clients needs and may need to tweak, time will tell! So bear with me! Once a good grasp is handled for you all, I will be chipping away at onboarding new clients as I can as well, with priority to those who are available to meet during the day.

Today’s spotlight is on Mr. Max!

We can all appreciate a good boy, right?! Fun fact, is that I got to know Max when he was just a young pup, and helped his owners train him basic life skills and obedience when I was out offering dog training during my Vet Tech days. As many years passed after that, Max’s dad reached back out asking for nail help!

Getting this big boy into the vet’s office for trims was STRESSFUL, because yes, typically Shepherds make a fuss about many things🤪 It was not a fun or positive experience for him.😔 Hey, they are highly intelligent and emotional animals, I get it! The challenge to make Max comfortable with his nail trims I completely welcomed and it has been an ongoing process of relationship building, patience, conditioning, and confidence building. But, for the last several meet-ups, an incredible amount of trust has been built and this 100+lb guy is SO compliant, patient, and accepting of his feetie groomings with very minimal fuss. He is more concerned now with finding his ball after his trim vs the trim itself. I am literally so proud of him and LOVE his excitement when I come over.

These puppers are neighbors, and the bestest of friends. From drooly waterbowl kisses to sticky burr infested hair, these two are SO fun to work with and then watch play. And, of course super polite and well behaved for their nail trims! Can you tell me the breed?! 🐾

A great reminder for these hot days! 🔥 Burned paws this time of year would be common in the Veterinary office. We often forget how hot that pavement can get when we are wearing our shoes. When out walking your pup this time of year, avoid the times of day when the sun is directly beating down. Early morning or evening walks are recommended, especially if your only option is to walk on pavement.

Good morning! As the summer is upon us, the weather undoubtedly has been lovely and I have been working with many of my pup clients outside☀️Therefore, I am often now greeted with outdoor pups, too. So, let this be a proactive future ask to you.

If you know that your dog is likely to run to and/or jump on my vehicle on my arrival, PLEASE keep your dog leashed or contained until I am out of my car. This is not only a safety concern for your pet, but also as a courtesy to my personal belongings. The past few days I have had several excited pups disappear into my blind spots as well as jump on my car, creating some nice nail artwork😬 Of course I love your dogs, but I prioritize their safety, and prefer nail art to be in the dirt! Thank you kindly!!

Worth a share, even 2 yrs later!

The economy has certainly shifted these days.. between gas prices not going down much and the price of a weekly grocery shop to feed a family is hundreds of dollars🤢in KNOW You all can understand!!

So even though I have had to re-evaluate my pricing as of recently & as an entirety since the beginning of my business due to astonishing growth of travel, my time, and my expertise, I still strive to offer the most convenient, affordable, and most stress-free pet paw care there is! I continue to be SO GRATEFUL of my clients. Remember, this is my JOB, and your support is my livelihood! I APPRECIATE you!

Often times I get alot of price shoppers in my inbox. And I can’t blame them. We all do it, right? But often times I also get a response of “wow, petco is X amount, you’re too expensive”

I wanted to create this post to address this as a bulk response. I am NOT in competition with Petco. Why? Because what I offer is COMPLETELY different. Yes, the groomers there offer nail trims. But honestly, I find this almost irrelevant when you compare of what they do vs what I do.

First, let’s just talk convenience. Realistically, a nail trim takes 5 minutes or less depending on the pet. How much time does it take you to get your pet & yourself in the car, drive to Petco, wait for your turn, then get back home? 30 minutes? An hour? You’re paying for convenience with me. I will be in and out of your home in 15 minutes or less and your pet barely has to leave the couch. You can hit “mute” on your work call for a minute while we get it done. Then, back to your day! We all value our time, don’t we?! My service is all about CONVENIENCE.

More importantly, let’s talk STRESS! Working in the vet industry as a veterinary technician for 10+ yrs, I can imagine it’s not much different for many dogs to have to get in the car, where adrenaline begins, get out in a highly stimulating environment like a petstore/groomers, be taken away from your owner, be propped up on a table, and not have your owner with you for a procedure that is typically undesirable. An anxious type pet may begin to stress even more, creating an even more negative association with a nail trim.

I come in, calmly, and sit down with your pet. We create a relationship. You’re right there. We feed treats. You get to hold your dog or cat, I trim, and before you know it, we’re done. Some dogs enjoy a belly rub while I trim. Others fall asleep. Most pets feel safe in your arms. I then sit with your pet some more. Positivity matters. Positive association makes a difference. I am finding that pets who are typically stressed in a groomer/vet setting, are totally at ease at home. Are some pets still stressed? Sure. But I adjust accordingly to try and make it the least stressful as possible. Most small dogs get to be held in their owner’s arms. I suppose I could just go on. You are paying for my approach. You are paying for my compassion & experience in fear-free handling. You are paying for supporting a small business, which in turn helps me support my family, not putting dollars in CEO billionaires pockets.

I do not believe I am “too expensive”. Honestly, we’re talking $5-$10 more than what Petco charges. I’m not doing this to become a millionaire. I’m doing it because it’s a fantastic alternative approach to your pet’s health that I feel SO GOOD about offering. What is YOUR time worth? What is your pet’s STRESS worth? I’m here when you need me 🙂

This week, our community has been rocked with the fatal accident involving Trooper Aaron Pelletier, who was struck roadside during a traffic stop. Whether you knew Aaron or not, we all admit that we feel the heaviness in his tragic loss. Aaron is a friend’s brother, so it is especially deeply saddening. The Pelletier family is a wonderful family, who didn’t deserve this to be a part of their life’s story. If you have the ability to, please donate to their family fund. He and his beautiful family are in my thoughts and prayers here at Paws 2 Go🖤💙

Happy National Rescue Dog Day!!!

This day is for you, all my rescue furry friends!!! EVERY pet is special, but on this day we recognize all the shelter pups to bring awareness to the countless homeless pets awaiting to be adopted. Personally, I have always had a soft spot for the rescue pups, and each pup of mine have been and continue to be so special!

Good Morning Paws 2 Go Family! 🩵🐾🖤

This week as I have been scheduling out for some clients, & it has been realized that SUMMER is just 6 short weeks away for us school folks, which means a shift in business hours. As a full-time mom when the kids are home for the summer, my availability will be temporarily cut back.

If you are not one who regularly schedules with me, bear this in mind, as last-minute or emergency type appointments during the summer will likely not be something I can accommodate, and I can only assume I will be booked out a minimum of 2 weeks at any given time.

Effective starting JUNE 12TH, below, is my new summer hours. (These will last until the first day of school is announced). When summer comes close to ending, I will be filtering through my waitlist to see about accommodating as many new friends as I can, with the new school year, because for the first time EVER, I will be able to offer you FULL DAY hours! Thank you all for your patience and enthusiasm, it’s been one heck of a wonderful year so far!!

Okay, trying not to get ahead of myself.. let’s get summer ready!! 🌼

Not only do I offer nail care for dogs and cats, but your small animal and pocket pets, too! This little cutie and her sister keep their nails short and healthy by monthly nail trims with me!

Yes, those little hands are tiny and delicate and it can be tricky, but rats are incredibly smart and catch onto the process quickly, and it’s helpful of course when there are post trim goodies like fresh dandelions to munch on!🌼🐀🤍

But sometimes the beautiful silver lining in a loss is it opens our hearts for another warm body and cold nose to love and share our lives with. I am often asked if I provide more than just nail care, and the answer is YES! As someone who worked over a decade in the veterinary field, my skills and experience is beyond JUST nails. But with that said, I am also not a full service shop and stay pretty exclusive to basic grooming and sanitary needs. Alongside nail trims, I also offer deep ear cleanings, gland expressions, fur trimming, and avian/small animal care.
