Shelter Observations
1/11: very scared coming in, did not want to come out crate and did not want to walk on leash, accepted pets at first and then became snappy possibly out of fear
1/13: Backs into the back corner approaching kennel door. May have to approach slowly.
1/14: Ranger reacts to the lead and doesn't walk when it's placed on him, he thrashes and snaps at the lead.
1/15: sits in the corner scared
1/15: Ranger showed teeth. He did allow me to enter the kennel and take pictures, however he was shut off in the corner trembling.
1/15: Watchful, tense poster, cowering tightly to corner of kennel. When opening door Ranger would turn away and face towards wall

Fearful at shelter and labeled as „aggressive“ for that. Yes, she’s nervous, yes she’s scared. But there are videos showing her wagging tail while she was petted and taking treats gently. It all depends on the environment 😔

Last call: Jimmy remains fearful in the shelter environment and is often pressed against the back of the kennel upon approach. It is reported by shelter staff that he has been observed to warm up quickly once outside of the shelter environment, seeking attention and leaning in for petting. We advise allowing Jimmy to interact and acclimate at his own pace to best set him up for success.
