We are saddened to hear of the news of the passing of K9 Officer Odin. Our hearts go out to the Alton Police Department and we are keeping Officer Averbeck in our thoughts. Thank you, Odin, for your service and dedication to protecting our community - you were a true hero.

With heavy hearts, we share the somber news of the passing of one of our community's brave K9 officers, Odin of the Alton Police Department. Odin was brought to our hospital after sustaining fatal injuries in the line of duty. Despite our team's best efforts, we were unable to save him.

Like all brave K9 officers, Odin served with unwavering loyalty and dedication, protecting and serving our community alongside his human partner. His sacrifice will not be forgotten.

Our team at Hawthorne Animal Hospital has had the honor and privilege of caring for this special dog, and he will be deeply missed.

Please join us in honoring this fallen hero and offering our deepest condolences to his handler, department, and all those who mourn his loss. Thank you, Odin. 🐾🌈🀍
