is a no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We rescue stray and abandoned cats and kittens located primarily in Montgomery and Bucks and other suburban Philadelphia counties, and find them safe and appropriate homes. Personally, SCB is a small group of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to find loving, life-long homes for abandoned cats. We are professional in our practices, but we are

emotional on the subject of homeless cats, and the ways in which we humans can work to prevent this epidemic of strays. Stray Cat Blues actively works to recruit permanent homes for the stray cats in our program. All the animals are screened for feline leukemia, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Healthy, adoptable cats are then housed through our network of foster homes. Our kittens and cats are exposed to the pet-loving public at our 4 different adoption cage locations to facilitate adoptions and to provide visibility for the organization. In addition to placement of sociable cats and kittens, a major focus of Stray Cat Blues is to place feral and unsociable cats in qualified barn homes. Like our house cats, our barn cats are delivered to their new homes by a Stray Cat Blues volunteer. We provide our barn cats with a cozy "cat condominium" to live in for the first few weeks of life in their new location. The crate allows the cats to acclimate to their new home without the danger of having them run away in search of their old stomping grounds. We are willing to go to great lengths for our cats - quite literally! We will gladly travel to approved barn homes within an approximate 100 mile radius of the Lansdale and Montgomeryville area to deliver our helpful mousers. Most of our cats are strays and their offspring that are rescued from area locations. Many of these strays are more than willing to be helped by our volunteers. But for those animals that are more wary of humans, especially the feral cats, we utilize humane traps. Many of our kittens are born to mother cats that we have rescued. Email: [email protected]

Next up for our FIV kitties is Calabash!

Calabash is a 5 year old male tabby swirl. I love to be petted and brushed, but I most love to curl up in a chair and nap in my foster mom's home office; it's exhausting watching humans work! I'll talk and head-butt to remind you it's dinner time. Don't I look cute with my tongue out?

My foster mom says I have a chronic respiratory infection so I need to take a pill twice a day, so she crushes it up in my yummy wet food. After eating is a little play time with my favorite yarn, then we cuddle up together in the chair. Calabash would do best in a quiet home with an attentive adoptive parent.

Last Week’s Happy Tails!

During the Week

Monday was Carhartt’s lucky day! Carhartt 15105 was adopted at our North Wales store! This two year old Orange and White DSH will have three cat loving humans to care for him!!! Carhartt will also have a dog buddy in his new home!

On Tuesday Nala 15700 was adopted at our Collegeville store! This spirited four month old Tiger Striped Tabby will have a cat loving family of three to care for her!!! Nala will also have three Tabby buddies in her new home!!! They are SCB alums!!!

Wednesday was Slate’s lucky day! He left his North Wales adoption cage for a home of his own! Slate 15674 is a three month old Gray DSH. This lucky boy will have three cat loving humans to care for him!!! Slate will also have two kitty “big brothers”/former SCB kitties to welcome him to the family!!

On Thursday Asiago, Cheddar, Meatball, Mink, and Orange were adopted at our Collegeville store!!!

Asiago 15492 and Cheddar 15491 are three months old. Asiago is a Black DSH. His brother Cheddar is an Orange and White DSH. The boys will have a family of four to give them the best care and lots of love!!!!

Meatball is a five month old DMH Brown Tabby. This energetic boy will have two cat loving humans to care for him!! Meatball will also have two dog buddies and two kitty companions in his new home!!!!

Mink15864 is a five month old Tortoiseshell. She will be well cared for and loved by her new “mom and dad”!! Mink will have a kitty “big brother” in her new home!

Orange 15864 is a five month old Orange DSH. This sweet girl will have two cat loving humans to care for her!! Orange will also have a kitty “big sister” to welcome her to the family!

Friday was the lucky day for five North Wales kitties!!!!!!

Cosmo 15513 is a four month old Black DSH. This adventurous kitten will have six cat loving humans to give him the best care and LOTS AND LOTS of attention!!!!!! Cosmo will also have two dog buddies and feline friends in his new home!!!!

Arucard, Naisu, and Whiskers are five months old.

Arucard 15142 is a Brown Tabby. His sister Naisu 15141 is a Black and White Tuxedo. Their foster home is now their forever home!! This makes the kittens and their new “dad” VERY HAPPY!!!

Whiskers 14963 is a Black and White Tuxedo. This former resident of the Mewow Cafe will have a family of four to make sure he is well cared for and loved!!!! Whiskers will also have lots of four legged company! Two cats and two dogs already live in his new home!!!!

Hermione 13584 is a one year 0ld Gray Tabby. This smart and friendly girl will have two cat loving humans to care for her!!

Nancy and Harley were adopted at our Collegeville store!!

Nancy 15833 is a three month old Buff Tabby. This affectionate girl have two cat loving humans to care for her!!

Harley 15688 is a four month old Tabby. Her foster home is now his forever home!! This makes Harley, her two humans, and the two resident kitties VERY HAPPY!!!!!

Hi, I'm Dudley! I was rescued after my owner became ill and needed to surrender me to a shelter. Unfortunately, I was not doing well there. The loud noises stressed me out and made me very anxious. Since arriving in my new foster home, my true personality is really blossoming. I love when my foster mom scratches my chin and around my ears. She even has this cool back scratcher that she uses on me and I just love it!

I've always been an only pet and it needs to stay that way. As much as I love people, other animals scare me. I hiss and growl when I hear them, so foster mom has had to keep me in the bathroom. I can't wait to find my forever home so I can have more space to explore and cuddle with my new family!

We’re going to be featuring some of our FIV positive kitties this upcoming week. FIV is nothing to fear! These kitties live very normal lives and require no additional care than non FIV kitties. Good nutrition, routine vet care and indoor only lives are all they need!

FIV is transmitted only by deep bite wounds so these kitties can be in homes with non FIV cats with no issues at all after proper introductions. Look for these posts all week! First up is Betty White!

Let's get something straight: when you hear "Betty White," you're probably thinking angelic Golden Girl. Yeah, that's not me. I am more of the Betty White from Saturday Night Live--sharp wit and even sharper tongue, with yes, a sweet grandmotherly side that I like to mostly hide in order to keep people on their toes. I've seen a lot of stuff in my day, and therefore, I don't believe in wasting time or sugarcoating things. I'm going to watch you sleep, and in the morning I will give you pointers on how you can improve. I will critique your wardrobe choices, but you will thank me for it. I will judge your food serving style and express my views loudly. I'm fine with other cats, as long as they swear allegiance to me and recognize me as the household head. I'm also fine as a solo cat. And I will love you with a fierceness that will be unwavering, even if you occasionally forget my rules and touch my belly. Or wear socks with sandals. I'm ready to interview you. Have your people call my people. I look forward to it.

Please join us in celebrating Sharon Firda as our Volunteer of the Month for September!

Sharon is the heart and soul of our adoption team at PetSmart North Wales. If you have ever shown your cats on a weekend, you’ve seen her at her card table talking to adopters, helping them with the paperwork and representing Stray Cat Blues as a true professional. Sharon has been the face of SCB at PetSmart since the inception of our relationship with them. She has been there every Friday and Saturday to do adoptions and works diligently during the week to help everybody with their adoptions. She also has processed applications, assigns the cages in the adoption center, does the laundry and so many other tasks that go unrecognized. Well, we are officially recognizing her dedication now.

As hectic and chaotic as things may seem on a busy weekend at PetSmart, Sharon always keeps her cool and is a reassuring presence for adopters and fosters alike. Her attention to detail and organizational skills are remarkable as illustrated by the pictures of Sharon doing adoptions in the PetSmart shopping center during Covid!

Thank you Sharon, for all that you’ve done and will continue to do for Stray Cat Blues!!! We value how much knowledge you have and hope you pass it along to the rest of us.

We urgently need your help for Parsnip, a sweet kitty who had to undergo emergency surgery to correct a recurrent re**al prolapse. Her foster mom was terrified as Parsnip was in severe distress, and we had to act immediately to alleviate her suffering.

Parsnip has had a rough start in life. She previously needed to have an eye removed, and despite her resilience, she has endured three re**al prolapses. Our veterinarians managed to fix the previous issues with minimally invasive procedures, but this time, the situation was far more serious.

Blue mice, yellow mice, red mice, purple mice. And white mice! I love all fuzzy mice and am excellent at playing fetch with my mice. Well, at least the part where I pounce on them and then race around to prevent my foster siblings from taking MY mice. Mice are the funnest things ever. What's that? "Funnest" isn't a word? Whoever said that clearly hasn't played with fuzzy mice!

Other than my love of mice, I also love people, other kittens, food--all the food--and sleeping on any cozy spot available. Even if that happens to be on my sister. Her belly is so squishy and soft! Ouch, Skye just smacked me for that. Sheesh.

If you're looking for a gentle, loving, funnest little kitten, look no further! I'd love to be adopted with Skye (I forgive her for the smack), but I will get along wonderfully with any kitten. Come meet me! And bring mice, please. I don't have a pink one.

Hercules is a mighty little bug who is curious, athletic, friendly, playful. He enjoys stalking and pouncing on the other cats in the house, and using the litterbox as soon as it is cleaned. He enjoys finishing everyone's food for them. He will only be adopted to a family that has another friendly cat or dog companion. He will do well with children, although he can be hesitant and skittish at times.

Zeus is a very handsome boy with a soft silky coat and perfect little white markings. He has been rather skittish in his foster home; he will do best in a calm home without much stress. He enjoys the company of his many cat siblings and will only go to a home that will include another friendly cat. His foster family has no doubt that he will become a loving and even friendly companion once he grows out of his juvenile hesitancies.

Hi, I'm Dave!

I came from a large TNR project. I took to the good indoor life in just a few days and having the whole house available for playing finding the perfect Sun bathing spot I get along with the other cats kittens and the two dogs in my foster home. I even kind of like playing with their foster puppy and sharing his food.

You have to save me. I am the lone lady in a litter of boys who constantly chase my tail, tackle me, and all around drive me bananas. Don't get me wrong, I love those doofuses, but sometimes a girl needs a little girl time, you know?

I love all toys, too, but quiet time is also awesome. Or so I hear--I don't actually get that since I am surrounded by knuckleheads. Sigh.

In addition to playing, I LOVE to cuddle. I watch humans closely until it looks like they're going to sit and have a lap available, and then I hustle as quickly as my little legs can carry me to claim dibs on said lap.

Would you like to come meet me? Oh, and I guess my brother Rocky is pretty great, for a boy, so he can come with us, too. We're waiting for you!

Dusty & Buster are a sweet bonded pair and must be adopted together.

Buster is the best boy! At about 4 years old, he is a big mush! He is sweet, silly, affectionate, and just the most adorable guy! He loves to be pet and brushed & wants to be near you as much as possible. Buster is always happy & purrs loudly with the cutest sound that can only be described as Chewbacca! He will eagerly greet you looking for affection. He even likes to be held like a baby & will make biscuits with his paws while getting pets. Buster has the most gorgeous eyes & light orange & white coloring. His gentle, sweet personality is the best! Buster loves to play! Bring out his favorite toys & he becomes a silly kitten. He is just as happy to entertain as he is to snuggle. Buster has perfect litter box habits & has never met a person he didnt love.

Dusty is such a lovely girl! At about 6 years old, she is a stunning dark calico who is so affectionate, sweet & gentle. She is a quiet kitty who loves to be pet & brushed & has become a total snuggle bug! Dusty starts out very shy & will hide at first. It took her about 3 weeks to fully trust her foster parents. She is an amazing beauty who is just perfect. She can be silly & extremely playful with her favorite toys. She will greet you with tiny little mews & rub against you looking for ear rubs. She has a sweet face with a little underbite. She has had a full dental done & several teeth removed but eats like a pro. She has perfect litterbox habits & loves lounging in her cat tree, watching out the window. Dusty will appreciate a quieter home. She lives with a quiet old dog in her foster home but hides as soon as the dog approaches. She would probably prefer a dogless home. She would be gentle with anyone who pets her but would probably hide from kids.

Tommie is a 9 month old gray tabby male from a farm where there were 30 plus kitties. He loves to play and be brushed. And hang with his little “brother” Billy, also from the farm. They both were showing signs of being friendly and came around very quickly. Billy loves to play too. Both tested negative for FIV/FELV. Neutered and up to date on shots/deworming. Our Story

Officially, Stray Cat Blues, Inc. is a no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing rescue and placement to stray and feral cats. Personally, SCB is a small group of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to find loving, life-long homes for abandoned cats. We are professional in our practices, but we are emotional on the subject of homeless cats, and the ways in which we humans can work to prevent this epidemic of strays. Stray Cat Blues actively works to recruit permanent homes for the stray cats in our program. All the animals are screened for feline leukemia, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Healthy, adoptable cats are then housed through our network of foster homes. Our kittens and cats are exposed to the pet-loving public at our adoption locations to facilitate adoptions and to provide visibility for the organization. In addition to placement of sociable cats and kittens, Stray Cat Blues places feral and unsociable cats in qualified barn homes. Like our house cats, our barn cats are delivered to their new homes by a Stray Cat Blues volunteer. We provide our barn cats with a cozy "cat condominium" to live in for the first few weeks of life in their new location. The crate allows the cats to acclimate to their new home without the danger of having them run away in search of their old stomping grounds. Most of our cats are strays and their offspring that are rescued from area locations. Many of these strays are more than willing to be helped by our volunteers. But for those animals that are more wary of humans, especially the feral cats, we utilize humane traps. Many of our kittens are born to mother cats that we have rescued.
