CALLING ALL (EQUINE) ATHLETES!!
Is your athlete currently performing up to their full potential? Are they missing that extra “something” they need to excel? This is the first in the series to give you a more in-depth introduction to the services we offer and how each one can benefit YOUR athlete!
Our versatile water treadmill is a great conditioning and rehab tool for all the following reasons:
• Increases the stride length and develops strength and a powerful push off from behind needed for under saddle work like dressage, racing, or the strength needed for “self-carriage” in the western events.
• Racers: allows bleeders to heal while still maintaining condition.
• Rehab: Can reduce recovery time by 50-60%!
• Cross-training in water can provide a much needed “mental break” to enable your road-warrior to regain their enthusiasm, while maintaining their fitness. Some horses just don’t do well with the idleness of turn out.
• Improves overall performance by accelerating conditioning and encouraging muscle development.
• Increases cardiovascular fitness and improves flexibility in arthritic animals.
• Promotes correct posture and a straight and balanced gait when asymmetries exist.
• Improved fitness minimizes performance injuries.
• Reduces impact on limbs while improving soft tissue mobilization and modulation.
• Provides hydrostatic pressure to reduce swelling and pain.
This slow-motion video really shows the resistance water creates pulling each leg forward.

The horses will tell you this is how fast they always have to work. Don’t believe them. 😅
We currently have openings for both conditioning and rehab horses. Are you ready for the BIG shows and events this fall? It’s not too soon to start cross-training on the water treadmill to give YOUR horse the edge over your competition! Call or message to get on the schedule!
I think we need to split these two up more. 😂
Sam, Willow and Oakley on the panel walker. It’s fun to see their personalities show in where they choose to travel within their respective space. 🤭
Contact Fluid Motion Equine LLC in Coloma Michigan to get your horse on the schedule! We are at exit 39 off I-94.
🛟 Have you ever tried to quickly walk across the shallow end of a pool? It feels like you’re in molasses and working so much harder with the water pushing back against your forward movement. This is the resistance that water adds to your horse’s exercise on the water treadmill and is what makes it so effective compared to “over ground” work. And this same water resistance softens the impact of every step, reducing wear and tear on your horses hard working joints.
Kimberly T Berryman & Susan Maravilla Kujawski have their mares Willow and Oakley here for conditioning. This is Willow. She’s worked her way up to stifle depth and we’ll slowly increase her speed as she increases fitness. Oakley isn’t far behind! Call, Message or text to get your horse on the schedule! 💪💪💪
A fun slow motion video of Rocco’s starting warm up in the water treadmill. I never get tired of watching how the changes in water depth change the stride. Even in this low water level, the water creates drag and adds resistance. After a few mins. at this depth we increase the depth, working different muscle groups.
