On Thursday, August 15th, 2024 at the Rocky Mountain Hound Association Specialty Show under Judge Tracey Luty, Anfisa was Best of Opposite in Sweepstakes. Under Judge Janet M Schwalbe, Nochka was WD, Anfisa was WB/BW, and Lucky Strike was Opposite.

At the Friday Specialty, Under Judge Claudia Miller, Nochka was 1st in the AOH class, Anfisa was WB.

Saturday, at the Greeley Kennel Club show, under Judge Debbie Campbell-Freeman, Nochka was WD/BW, Anfisa was RW.

Sunday under Judge Barbara G. Pepper, Nochka was RW, Anfisa was 1st in her 12-18 month class.

Both Nochka and Anfisa only need 1pt each to finish their championship, and we're hoping it happens at our next show, Evergreen Kennel Club shows/ Rocky Mountain Borzoi Club Specialty, which is also the same day as my late father's birthday.

Anfisa, Kyrov-Horse and Hound One Moment In Time, showcased at the High Plains Kennel Club, a day shy of her 1st birthday.

Saturday and Sunday (July 27th & 28th) were her last 'puppy classes'. Under Judge Karen Hynek, she went BOB and then went on to a Group 4 placement, and under Judge Steven Melgreen, she went BOB and then Group 1!! Unfortunately no love in the BIS ring, but overall a great weekend before my little baby grows up completely. 🥰

What a wild, wild weekend! Normally this time of year we head north to attend the Laramie shows, but this year we traveled south for the Rio Grande Kennel Club shows. RGKC/Coronado Kennel Club changed weekends this year due to Westminister moving too. Despite the date change the Turquoise Trail Borzoi Club holds their specialty along side these all breed shows, and it is always a pleasure attending!

On Saturday, May 25th, Under Judge Paula Nykiel, for the Rio Grande Kennel Club (10-14 3-6) , none of the dogs placed under her.

For the Turquoise Trail Borzoi Club, Under Sweepstakes Judge Loretta Binder-Wheeler, Anfisa won her 9-12 month class, and went on to win Best in Sweepstakes! There were 14 entries and 1 veteran.

Under Judge John P. Wade, for the Turquoise Trail Borzoi Club (12-15 3-6) , Nochka was WD from the Amateur Owner Handler class for a 5pt Major. Anfisa was WB/BW/Best Puppy for a 5pt Major from the 9-12 month Puppy class. Lucky Strike did not make it into the final line up in Best of Breed, but there were lots of lovely specials!

For the Coronado Kennel Club on Sunday, Under Judge Angela Pickett, (9-9 4-6), Nochka was 2nd in the Open Class and after this weekend only needs 5 singles left to complete his Championship. Lucky Strike took Select in the Best of Breed ring... and Anfisa once again went WB/BW for another 3pt Major in a strong line up of competition. All but one of Anfisa's four Majors have come from a specialty weekend, with wonderful, deep line ups of b*tches, and she only need 4 singles left to complete her Championship. This has only been her 3rd weekend out this year!! Let me just say WOW!!

Now it is time to rest up for a few days before we hit the road for Pasco, Washington for the BCOA National!

The theme this weekend was 'Titles'.

Lucky Strike attended his first UKC show(s) and did not disappoint! BOB all weekend, with (2) Group 1's, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4, and a RBIS! Unbeknownst to us he also finished his UKC Championship in one weekend!! The club, Trail Ridge Kennel Club, was wonderful and made an announcement about it at the end of the final Sunday show.

Nochka ran an AKC Trial event Sunday morning/ mid-afternoon. During the first half of the event he ran his final JC qualifier run, and then entered his first AKC Lure Trial in Open. Thank you again to RMHA for such a wonderfully run performance event, both administratively and field committee wise!

This weekend was all about performance!

On Saturday, Anfisa attended her first ever puppy bump/ run. Needless to say this girl is hooked! Sunday was for the boys and they attended their first AKC lure coursing event. They both entered for the JC/Qualifying runs...Unfortunately the lure line broke under Lucky Strike's first run and he was not given a Qualifying run. Nochka helped certify a friend of ours Irishwolf Hound, did his first run... but then the club hosting the event decided they would pack up early and we were not able to complete our second run which would have given him his new JC title.

Yesterday Nochka went out to the ASFA CLCA lure trial. The weather was HORRIBLE, but this boy did not care and ran his heart out! Nochka was BOB, and ultimately 4 out of 4 in the run off for best in field. The scores for best in field were very, very tight and we ran against great competition!

Today, Sunday, we ultimately decided to stay home from the trial. Photo is a throw back to last summer since we were not able to get any photos due to freezing fingers.

What a surprise to see our boys in the Top 20 ASFA!! Both boys have had limited time this year for performance events, and have been focusing mainly on AKC shows.

This weekend at Garden City Kennel Club, Lucky Strike, InterCH GCH Ch Prairie View Shamrock BCAT, went on another solo trip into Kansas. Under Judge John P. Wade, in an entry of (1-0 2-2) we received Select. On Saturday (1-0 2-2) under Judge Grace M. Fritz, we went BOB, and finally in Sunday (1-0 2-2) under Judge Danelle M. Brown, we took Opposite.

After a month off from their last shows, Nochka and Anfisa joined Lucky Strike this weekend at the Terry-All Kennel Club shows in Brighton,CO.

Friday (5-3 3-1) under Judge David J. Kirkland, Nochka was 4th in Open Dogs, Anfisa was RW, and Lucky Strike did not place in the BOB ring.

Saturday (6-6 4-1) under Judge Linda Hurlebaus, Nochka placed 3rd in Open Dogs, Anfisa was 1st in 6 Mos & Under 9 Mos., went on to be WB and BW for a 3pt Major., and Lucky Strike took Select Dog.

Sunday (6-6 4-1) under Judge Karen Hynek, Nochka was 3rd in Open Dogs, Anfisa was 1st in 6 Mos & Under 9 Mos., and Lucky Strike did not place in the BOB ring. The judge was strange but being the last day of the show, we were eager to return home and relax for the rest of our Sunday. There was a ring side photographer and we are excited to see how our photos look! Our next show will be in Garden City, Kansas, next weekend before May rolls around. In May we have specialties every weekend before we head out to Washington for our National Specialty.

It was a solo weekend for Lucky Strike out in Kansas at the Greater Emporia/ Jesse James cluster. On Thursday we had a conflict and were not able to attend the ring time, so we were absent. Friday under Judge Sidney Marx, we took a Select placement (1-0-2-1). Saturday under Judge Gary Anderson, we took Opposite in a line up of (2-3-1-1), and on Sunday under Judge Mary Lynn Elliot we took BOB in a line up of (2-2-1-1).

This weekend the boys attended an ASFA event held by CLCA. Lucky Strike and Nochka are one step closer to receiving their Field Champion title! Unfortunately Lucky Strike was pulled for the second run due to picking up a cactus, and he was determined not to enter the field again after doing so.

The first show of the year and it was fantastic!
On Friday we had three dogs entered: Lucky Strike did not place, Nochka took 1st in AOH, but did not place in winners, and Anfisa went WB/BW for a 3pt Major under Judge Dr. Lisa M. Costello.

Saturday was our Rocky Mountain Borzoi Club's Specialty. Under Judge Alfred Ferruggiaro, Lucky Strike took an Award of Merit, Nochka did not place, and Anfisa did not place.

Sunday was the 2nd Rocky Mountain Borzoi Club's Specialty, Under Judge Deirdre Petrie, Lucky Strike took another Award of Merit, Nochka did not place, and Anfisa did not place.

Back on December 30th we attended the High Plains Kennel Club show. Anfisa, Kyrov-Horse and Hound One Moment In Time, strutted her stuff out on her first real show day and was awarded Novice Puppy Best In Show. We are very proud of our Little Princess and can't wait to see what else her future holds.

Back from our weekend out lure coursing! All of the dogs got out of the house this weekend...Lucky Strike and Nochka on Saturday, with their little princess Anfisa along for the ride, and Strella and Nochka on Sunday.

On Saturday Lucky Strike ran his first run but we decided to pull him for the second for certifying Nochka at the very end. Nochka did run in singles and ended up getting 3rd out of the many dogs there!

On Sunday Nochka ran in Open, and ended up tying with a FCh for BOB. Nochka ran his heart out against a skilled dog and I couldn't have been more proud of him! Strella ran singles and ended up getting 4th place. This was her first time running after a full year of rehabilitation and we couldn't have been more proud!

Overall it was a great weekend running our dogs and seeing friends.

This weekend was the Southern Colorado Kennel Club which brought us to our last AKC show of the year.... and let me tell you it didn't disappoint!!

On Friday under Judge Mary Lynn Elliot, Lucky Strike went Best of Opposite S*x.

Saturday under Judge Luis Sosa, Lucky Strike took Select Dog, and Nochka went 1st/WD/OS/BOBOH for a three point cross over major over all of the specials!!

Sunday under Judge Shalisa D. Neely, Lucky Strike went Best of Opposite S*x and Nochka went 1st/WD.

What a weekend it has been! This weekend we entered the Buckhorn Valley Kennel Club show in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Originally we entered Lucky Strike, Nochka, and Strella, but the two boys where the only ones who ended up attending as Strella sustained a cut on her front paw and was resting at home.

Lucky Strike, GCH CH Prairie View Shamrock BCAT, under Judge Allen Odom went Select Dog.

On Saturday under Judge David Peat, Nochka, Prairie View St Patrick's Black Gold, was Reserve Winners Dog and Lucky Strike was dumped. Understandably we were upset, but a friend of ours placed BOB with their class b*tch and finished her Championship. (Congratulations again!!)

We are not planning on attending today (Sunday) to finish up the weekend, so the pack will be relaxing until next month when we attend a specialty in New Mexico, and playing/ adjusting to our newest addition Anfisa!

This weekend the boys participated in the Rocky Mountain Sieger- IABCA show in Colorado Springs. Between the two of them Nochka and Lucky Strike switched going Best of Breed each show, and they made us proud. The judges had wonderful critiques and enjoyed their individual experience with them.

After the paperwork is all said and done we will have our International Championship(s).

Our weekend at the Arapahoe Kennel Club is in the books. It was a special weekend as my spouse and I celebrated our 10th anniversary/wedding anniversary in style doing dog stuff!

This weekend both boys came out to play.
Under Judge Stephen Dinard, Lucky Strike took Best of Opposite.

On Saturday, Nochka, Prairie View St Patrick's Black Gold BCAT, went Winners Dog. Lucky Strike took Select Dog under Judge Cindy Vogels and received his new Grand Champion title. Lucky Strike is now- GCH CH Prairie View Shamrock BCAT!!

On Sunday, Nochka went Winners Dog and Best of Winners under Judge Ms. Linn Klingle-Brown, and Lucky Strike took Best of Opposite/ BOBOH.

Roaring Fork Kennel Club is in the books!

It was a great weekend for Chernaya Voda as both of our boys were participating in events across Colorado.

Nochka, Prairie View St Patrick's Black Gold BCAT, participated in the CLCA 49th Grand National event and had a blast!

Lucky Strike, CH Prairie View Shamrock BCAT, went with his favorite mom and was entered in the Roaring Fork show in Greeley, CO. Lucky placed OP/OHBOB x2 under Judges X (there was a Judge change) and William G. Daugherty. On Sunday under Judge Wendy Maisy went BOB/BOBOH. The boys made me so proud this weekend and we will rest until the next weekend.
