Puppies are too cute to resist. Unfortunately, they just don't stay small for very long. It is extremely important to encourage good behaviors as soon as you bring them home. Many people don't where to start. Pretty soon, that innocent stumbly puppy develops into a velociraptor. Meet Jude, one of our February graduates.

Jude came to us because of problems with barking, counter surfing, getting onto furniture, getting in the trash, nervously hiding behind his owner, and more.

He did a wonderful job during his stay and couldn't be prouder of his graduation. Good boy Jude!

Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy!

We had the great pleasure of working with this little ball of floof this month. It was incredibly fun watching him be a goofball playing with the other puppies, and then switch into work mode when he knew it was time to settle down. He is only 5 months old, but is smart as a tack.

Hello gorgeous!

Cody came to us as a wild child. Too much to handle for most people. Pure-Unfiltered- German Shephard- High Drive- Energy. He wanted to be in 12 places at once. His chase drive is on point for his breed but he just needed some obedience to reign him in. He just needed a little help becoming a good K9 citizen. Underneath all that floof and the big barks, he is a sweetheart wanting to please.

I adore high-drive dogs. They are always so fun to train. This boy will do anything for a ball or a treat.

He did fantastic at his graduation. Good boy Cody! Thank you dearly for putting your trust in us and letting us teach him.

Meet Remi, a 7-month-old Cocker Spaniel attending our two-week board and train program. She absolutely adores carrying this ball around the play yard. with the other pups. She can barely fit it in her mouth, but it doesn't stop her in the slightest.

She has done a fantastic job with her training so far and we cannot wait to show her owners what she has learned during her stay.

Who else is excited for Spring? These days seem to be getting better and better. More opportunities for walks and adventures.

Peanut showed so much focus on her walk. Peanut is a board and train graduate who is staying with us again while her guardians go on vacation. So happy to have a familiar face back in the center.

Congratulations on your recent graduation Kit-Kat!

This girl just brings the biggest smile to my face. She is sweet, kind, gentile, and so very smart. Her eyes are like laser beams, which always made training fun.

She came to us needing help with her focus, and obedience. Even though she was not super food-driven, she quickly picked up on, Sit, Place, Walking on a Leash Nicely without Pulling, and Place.

Kenny rocked his training session today completely off-leash. What a good boy! He craves learning.

Kenny graduated from our Two-week Board and Train program back in October of 2023. For our graduates, we also offer Boarding, or Board and Refresh services. With the Refresh training, we work with them while you're away on vacation which keeps them mentally stimulated. It also gives us a chance to see how they have been progressing while they have been away. We LOVE seeing them again.

Meet Gypsy.

When she came to us, she believed she needed to pull as hard as she could to get anywhere she wanted. Does this sound familiar? If it does, you're in luck because it doesn't need to.

This photo of her is from about a week into our two-week board and train program. She is walking nicely to the left and offering eye contact. She is seeking direction, rather than trying to dictate where they are going. And the best part- she is having a blast while doing it.

Sometimes they just need to be taught what to do, rather than trying over and over at what not to do.

POV: When you're so small your ears flip back every time you look up.

This is Duchess, a current board and train student. She packs a huge personality for weighing in at only 9 lbs. Believe me when I tell you, squeaker toys don't stand a chance. She is showing everyone how smart she is with how quickly she is leaning to come when called, and walking on a leash nicely without pulling, sitting, and placing. Her confidence in herself, other dogs, and people have sky-rocketed in such a short amount of time.

Happy New Year!

Every January we are reminded how fast life passes us by (it's even faster for our K9 companions). We get so absorbed in our day-to-day chaos that another year blinks by. Playing and doing fun training sessions with your dog daily, not only strengthens your bond, but mentally stimulates them as well.

Most people think you need to go on walks for miles and miles. Mental stimulation can be just as tiring for your pup. A tired dog is a good dog, after all.

Let's all make it a New Year's resolution to play with your pup for at least 20 minutes, twice a day.
