The wind hit hard late morning today and the temperature is dropping fast! Dogs will be closely supervised when outside this weekend, and potty trips will be very short. Our guillotine dog doors will be shut overnight to provide extra insulation and protection from the bitter cold. Senior and short-haired dogs will have coats on when they go outside. Our buildings are heated to 66-68* and dogs will have plenty of blankets too. Stay warm!

Windy day tomorrow! We likely won't be doing much outside time, but we'll make up for it with play in the hallways! 🥶

Northwest winds tomorrow will be WIDESPREAD with gusts of 40-60mph. There's a medium probability that gusts exceed 70mph on the eastern plains. and a Medium to high probability that gusts exceed 70mph along and west of I-25 going into the foothills.

Window of strongest gusts will be 6am to 6pm Monday.

Some of you are already feeling the blowies. This is just the start.

I need your guys help spreading the word.

Colorado Springs Fire Department has already responded to a number of small grass fires over the last couple of days.

We're not doing this again.

You can complete the form ahead of your visit, or scan the QR code in our lobby when you arrive. You only need to do these once for our records (not every visit), but you can redo it to update your emergency information at any time.

Who ordered wind and more snow? Can it be returned? We're only supposed to get a light dusting dusting thankfully.

Our dog door project is almost complete! The guillotine doors are being re-installed! These doors provide extra protection when the weather is really bad, as it just was. They also allow is to restrict indoor-outdoor access, making it safe for us to have reactive and aggressive dogs.
