Three new babies! Unfortunately, I need to redesign the colony and so we're not entirely sure who dad is 😆 but I'm pretty sure they're Caramel's kits!

We had a litter born during our big snowstorm on the 6th. Unfortunately, the last of the kits passed this morning. We're 2/4 with our litters so far this autumn. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to build the second rabbit run within the next few weeks - hopefully the weather stays nice and sunny!

Dawn had 3 kits total, two were born deceased. The one kit is being fostered by Caramel & is doing wonderful!!!
Caramel's 6 kits are opening their eyes and will be exploring the run here soon.
Nutmeg pulled some fur today, so we should have a litter here soon!

This is the first time having a single kit - would you keep it with the bigger litter or would you foster it with the new kits? Caramel's litter is 9 days older and Nutmeg's would be 4 days younger. I'm leaning towards having one big kit among Nutmeg's rather than having one small kit competing with Caramel's litter.

Hazelnut is kindling tonight. I went out as soon as I got home and found 1 kit dead, pulled from the nest, and a second kit in the nesting box.
I'm hoping that she has another kit so that I don't have to foster this bebe with Caramel.
We'll recheck in half an hour 😔

We had a terrible Spring, but getting back on track. Took 9 rabbits to our friends at littlebunnyusa.com and finally finished the first covered colony. We'll share updates on the herd and our new bucks & does soon!

I'm going to be traveling from Colorado Springs to Louisiana. Going through Amarillo and Dallas/Ft. Worth and Shreveport. Are there any rabbitries that I should check out?

Some of the kits out & about today. Going to be rebuilding the colonies & installing supports in the middle this time! We'll be able to have four separate colonies this way & hopefully this will make it easier to keep track of the breedings.
