These 2 amazing mini-nubian doelings are ready for their own herd!

We are a small homestead located in Southern Colorado.
These 2 sisters, Ginger and Ginseng, have been disbudded, vaccinated (CD&T), dam raised, and are amazingly friendly!

We focus heavily on:

This beautiful Mini-Nubian boy is ready for his new (pet) home! He is absolutely stunning with his moonspots and will make a wonderful pet (he even doubles as w**d eater)!

He is disbudded (de-horned) and banded (castrated), so he will stay cute and playful forever! He won't ever turn into a stinky buck who humps everything and pee's on his own face 🤣

He will stay under 100lbs, so he is legal within Colorado Springs city limits. ❤️

Believe it or not, this is my 1st ever loaf of sourdough bread! I've been homesteading for over 10 years but I've never made sourdough!

We've got fresh, raw goats milk available! Each share is 1/2 gallon per week.

It tastes JUST like cows milk, so don't be scared. But it's so much better for you than cows milk. There are so many health benefits to drinking raw goats milk. In fact, many people with a lactose intolerance can drink goats milk. ❤️

Another sweet reunion between the babies and their Mama's this morning ❤️

We separate them at night so that I can milk the mama's in the morning. I do this for a few reasons:

1. It bumps the Mama's milk supply because they will suckle for milk when they are back together. Since her udder is empty and they are suckling, it signals to her body to make more milk.

2. It encourages the babies to start eating some hay when they are hungry, which (in my opinion) helps make weaning a bit easier for them.

3. It helps them gain a little independence while still being within eyesight and earshot of their Mama's.

4. For those of who who milk test, it helps set up a routine of separating Mama's and babies so that when we have to do so for milk testing, their supply doesn't plummet from stress.

My sweet Millie Rose is SUCH a great mama ❤️
Come to think of it, she's amazing in every single way. She is friendly, she gives us so much delicious milk, she hops right up on the milk stand every day and stands so nicely while we milk her. She doesn't even care if we hand milk or if we use the milk machine! And her udder is absolutely beautiful.

She is a dream goat!
(PS: She has 2 daughters that will be 8 weeks old on August 17th. But, just a heads up, we are most likely retaining one because they are pure perfection!)

All babies have been disbudded, and boys have been banded!

We're ready for lots of goats milk soon!
We have 4 mama's due to kid in June and we are SO excited to be ready!

While I took one milking-season off, my milking parlor became a MESS! I feel so stinkin' lucky to be able to say that we gave the whole room a makeover:
❤️ New Flooring
❤️ Shiplap Walls
❤️ Revamped Milk Stand
❤️ A New (to me) Medicine Cabinet (pic coming soon)

I am beyond excited! Thank you so much to my honey for helping me make all my dreams come true!!!! Now to start adding my supplies back into all their new organized places!

Last year I had to assist in a very difficult delivery while I had the flu and I assisted one the year before while I had covid.

I'm crossing my fingers for a healthy kidding season this year (for the goats ANY for myself)!

This is too true!

This month I put the buck in with our 4 girls with every intention of tracking their heats and breeding times.
I forgot about false heats, 2nd heats, and other things that make this method difficult (snowy weather that I don't want to go out into multiple times a day, days my kids were sick, days I was sick, outrageously busy days, etc).

I'm going to hate myself this summer when I have to watch all of them obsessively!
