Isla and Dallas getting comfortable jumping off the dock!!
Have you ever seen a happier dog!? #goldenretriever
Crate training has been going well for these babies!
Goose (Bridger/Tilley) has been absolutely rocking his training as a Diabetic Alert Dog! He has an amazing handler and they are flourishing into a rock solid team!
These babies are 4 weeks old and novelty is the name of the game! They are at an age where their curiosity is stronger than their fear, so we capitalize on that by introducing them to something new every day! The something new can be a new surface, toy, material, sound, environment, smell, person, etc. yesterday they got a new interactive dog puzzle toy and today they moved out to their bigger pen!
As soon as their ears open up we start desensitizing them to different noises! We always play traditionally scary sounds while they are doing something they love like eating! On todays agenda we have fireworks! These little babies will get to hear real fireworks very soon!
Zena had her second FastCat event today, it was a one day event and she had a blast!! She earned 52 more points towards her DCAT title and ran her fastest time to date! A big thank you to Goose and his owner for the moral support and releasing Zena at the start line!
We are entering into the third trimester and it’s time to slow down on physical activity which means a ton of super fun scent work! I set out an empty scent tin to make sure she is alerting to the Birch oil and not the tin, see if you can find the decoy! #Scentwork #goldenretrieversofinstagram #ethicalbreeding #charmedgoldenretrievers
So proud of this sweet boy and his handler! Goose (Bridger/Tilley) is being trained for medical alert, there is a scent sample in the metal tin and we want him to sniff the tin and then paw to let us know he smells the scent. We just introduced the paw alert because he had his first live alert at just 4 months! Goose is such a smart boy and I love watching him work!
