We continue to grow and see a steady stream of new clients, fulfilling our mission to serve the needs of Colorado Springs kitties with passion, kindness and expertise. To support that growth, we are thrilled to announce the addition of a new DVM to our CCVH family, Dr. Magdalena Dominguez Lowery. She will begin taking appointments on May 30th - below is her short bio:

Dr. Dominguez is from the Chicago land area and studied at the University of Illinois, graduating with a bachelors degree in animal sciences and a minor in chemistry followed by her veterinary medicine degree in 2008.
In 2009 she completed a small animal and emergency internship in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she continued practicing emergency medicine for a few years before moving to Georgia with her husband, who is currently active duty ARMY. In 2020 her family moved to Colorado Springs and she's been practicing small animal medicine and surgery at local practices.
Dr. Magdalena Dominguez Lowery is most proud of her certification as a cat friendly veterinarian, and is looking forward to serving your kitties as if they were her own >”

With tomorrow being Hairball Awareness Day, we wanted to remind our cat parents about the importance of preventing hairballs.

Accumulated from excessive grooming, hairballs can build in your cat’s digestive system and either get coughed up or in some cases, need surgical removal. If your cat is excessively vomiting, lethargic, loses their appetite, or has diarrhea or constipation, these may be signs of a blockage and you should contact our team immediately.

Some weeks are harder than others at a vet practice. When our clients lose their beloved littles, it leaves an emotional dent on our staff for the rest of the day and sometimes longer. We place a high value on our feline patients’ distinct needs. Our hospital has a team of professionals that love what they do and challenge themselves daily to provide the best quality veterinary care for your cat(s). We are especially interested in delivering medical care to kitties in ways that help the cat (and their human family members) experience as little stress as possible. We aren’t just your everyday veterinary hospital either, we offer a wide range of services; from wellness exams and vaccinations, to sick or injured kitty care, as well as cat only boarding! Our hospital uses the latest advances in the veterinary industry with in-house laboratory, full body and dental digital radiology, and cold laser therapy.
