Did you know that not every fractured tooth requires extraction? If a tooth is fractured without fracturing into the pulp cavity, often a bonded sealant may be applied. This process seals the dentin tubules to prevent infection and allows the tooth time to lay down new dentin to protect itself. With a careful process of smoothing and sealing these teeth we can give the pet the opportunity to keep teeth healthy in their mouths. These teeth do need to be monitored with x-rays throughout their lives to ensure they remain vital but it is a great option for our pets.
