How can I see the Pony Express Re-ride in person?

As the riders make their way from St. Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento, California, there are scheduled exchanges where the riders will hand off the mochila and a new rider will continue the delivery. The ride takes place 24 hours a day so some of these happen in the middle of the night!

Though the schedule is subject to change, here are the some of the places that you can watch an exchange or see the riders ride by (during daylight hours!): go.nps.gov/ReRideSchedule

Summer Kick Off party was fantastic fun! We had a great time, food, music, mini goats from FlyingWRanch, Cripple Creek Donkeys, Tortoise from Cheyenne Mountains Zoo, Pro Rodeo Hall of Frame neat venue, all Pike Peak Attractions celebration 2million visitors on YouTube channel! Big thank you, PK! What a perfect party!

Captain, was our wonderful trail horse, well mannered, easy to ride, 15.5 hands, grade Appaloosa, 16-17 years old, easy to shoe, current on all shots, retiring, rehoming with his Friend TJ. Price$2,500. Captain is SOLD! Going to a beautiful country home to run free!

Nothing to see here. Just a couple of turkeys out for a stroll, staying on the path, sharing the adventure with friends. Traveling in a group is not only more fun, it is often safer than going alone especially if you are inexperienced on the trail. Traveling with a group means there are more turkeys looking out for each other. If possible bring an experienced turkey that can help identify and avoid hazards, like hitting an icy patch leading to a terrifying twerky turkey display of epic proportions. Wow. Didn’t know feathers could do that.

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) just released a report highlighting the remarkable impact of Colorado's parks and recreation system. Colorado proudly ranks 6th in the U.S., generating a whopping $7 billion annually and supporting over 39,000 jobs!

A standout contributor to this success in the City of Colorado Springs is Garden of the Gods Park which contributes 4,055 jobs and $158 million to the regional economy. Despite free entry, Garden of the Gods makes a substantial $272 million net contribution to the local economy! These findings were recently analyzed by local economist Tatiana Bailey with Data-Driven Economic Strategies in a report commissioned by the Garden of the Gods Foundation.

During the winter, bison develop thick, woolly coats that help protect them from freezing temperatures and harsh winds. It’s said that a bison's winter coat is so thick and provides insulation so effective that when snow accumulates on its coat, it will not melt from the heat of the bison's skin. Their skin also thickens in response to cold temperatures and fatty deposits appear to insulate the animal. Same.
