Today might be damp and lousy but the ladies were hungry yesterday in the spring sun. (Frames of crystallized honey saved specifically to feed in spring when the days warm up but nothing's blooming yet.)

A beautiful use of 19 minutes of your time. Highly recommended.

Folks ask sometimes what the beeswax we sell is used for. Besides a great lip and hand balm ingredient, one pretty unique use is for bead work!

The thread used for beading can fray, especially when weaving through beads multiple times. A layer of beeswax can help protect the thread.

This is what we call a "deep" frame, bulging with honey!
The deep frames are for the bees, we never harvest any of their honey. Every hive needs 10 of these frames, about 100 pounds of honey, for winter.

A conscientious, educational apiary

Bees and Sundry strives to keep bees conscientiously, without chemicals or dangerous treatments. We want to build a healthy, symbiotic relationship with our hives.

We also seek to share knowledge of these fascinating insects with everyone who wants it. We offer hands-on learning at the apiary, accepting donations rather than charging fees for our exclusive lessons.

Honey, hive products, art and sundries will be available for sale at local markets and online.
