🚨IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ🚨

Attention PCVH clients,
We have had numerous inquiries about our thoughts and opinions on Proposition 129 and wanted to take this opportunity to express to you our concerns on this proposition and why we hope you vote NO this November. All of the associates at Pine Creek Vet are vehemently AGAINST this unnecessary Prop 129 as it will threaten the lives of our patients, your pets, and many others!
If you are unaware, Proposition 129 is proposing a new veterinary professional position, a mid-level practitioner (MLP) titled a “Veterinary Professional Associate (VPA)”.
Not only does this role overlap the existing duties of veterinarians and veterinary technicians, making it unnecessary, it also puts animal health and safety at risk. These individuals will not have the education nor training (the bill only requires approximately 65 hours of training) and will be allowed to diagnose, prognose, make treatment recommendations and preform abdominal surgery on animals with minimal hands-on training. We fear this extreme lack of knowledge and hands-on experience endangers the patients and exposes pets to unacceptable risks, including death.
We believe that all animals deserve nothing less than knowledgeable, compassionate and high-quality veterinary care. Of course, granting greater access to veterinary services is a goal we strongly stand behind, we do not feel this is the best way to obtain that goal.
We understand the current financial hardship many in our community are facing given the terrible state of this great nation, but this Proposition 129 will never be able to improve access to the safe and proper veterinary care our furry family deserve and need.
