Allergen Detection Service Dogs The dogs we train have a profound impact on the lives of children and adults throughout the world.

Founded in 2011, we have continued to provide exceptional dogs to detect traces of life threatening allergens in the environment for people with anaphylaxis, Celiac Disease and other autoimmune diseases. By providing people who suffer from anaphylaxis with a new ability to "see" what is in their environment through the nose of a dog, they are able to experience life with newfound freedom. They are

able to avoid contact with allergens which may have caused sever skin reactions, anaphylactic shock or even death. We are honored to be a part of the process that changes lives for so many people worldwide.

Much of what we do here when we are not training dogs is talking with people about their allergies. Fragrance sensitivities are one issue we haven't found a good detection solution for. Not much is known about this type of condition in the medical world (read: nada, nothing, zilch, zip), so talking with others who experience similar symptoms can help people find better ways to manage their own reactions. I'm re-posting a message from one person who has spent decades identifying fragrance sources in her environment and is willing to share her knowledge with others. Information is power!

This post is long overdue, but the congratulations are sincerely heartfelt! CONGRATULATIONS to Addy Luke and K-9 Koda!!! Koda is now a Pennsylvania peanut detection dog. Addy's mom, Elizabeth, is the handler, but don't tell that to Addy. She knows that dog is all hers!

Please note that his adoption fee includes the 2-week training course required for all first time detection service dog handlers. This class is not required for future service dog placements.

Travel to Colorado Springs is not included, but lodging may be available, depending on the date.

For all of our friends with LATEX allergies: Feel free to print and share this note with the stores in your area that still have balloon displays. Most just don't know it's a problem. Start the movement to let them know you CAN'T shop there if they have regular balloons up. Encourage them to switch to Mylar!

Meet Brody... an 8-year old Golden Retriever. He has been working as an Peanut/Tree Nut/Sesame Detection Service Dog for 6 years. Recently his boy outgrew his allergies. Despite the enormous love they have for Brody, they know the freedom that Brody brought them and they want to pass that on to another family. They have decided to place Brody up for adoption for his remaining working years. Brody is one of the most enthusiastic and talented detection dogs I have ever trained. He is a very eager and independent searcher and needs little external motivation to search. He needs a handler with good leadership skills in order to rein in this enthusiasm before and after searching. He has a clean bill of health and has had his hips re-checked, showing no evidence of hip dysplasia. Stipulations: 1.) A loving home! 2.) Must be willing to be in contact with the original family, share pictures, and let them send care packages 3.) Access to water a huge plus. This dog is crazy about the water! 4.) Able to attend a 2-week training class in Colorado Springs, CO with Allergen Detection Service Dogs required to learn how to properly use and care for Brody. 5.)
