Wild Blue Cats has officially and enthusiastically entered KITTEN SEASON. We need volunteers! This video is from last year in Kaylene’s Kradle. KK is our feral mom outdoor enclosure. The mamas have their babies in safety and we ensure that the little ones are healthy, gaining weight, receiving their vaccines and being socialized. We are almost there! Your generous support has raised over $2500 for little Galaxy Angel's MRI. We were able to get her an appointment for tomorrow!!! YES - tomorrow! If you missed her story and would like to help us fund the rest of the MRI costs- here is her story.
A kind lady found Galaxy Angel (fka Squeaks) and her sister Garling (fka Sugar). She brought them in and bottle fed them. She noticed that Galaxy Angel wasn't acting normal. She was unable to stand on her own, couldn't eat on her own. couldn’t use the litterbox and wasn't gaining weight. The kind lady reached out to many rescues and shelters and everyone told her that they couldn't help or that she should euthanize this sweet angel. After her determination led her to Wild Blue Cats - where we have lots of experience with CH (cerebellar hypoplasia) kitties- we agreed to help her. After intake we noticed that our little Angel had severely dilated pupils and seemed to have something other than CH. We took her to see Dr. Song in Parker and she agreed that she doesn't appear to just be a "wobbly kitty". We were advised that an MRI would help us be certain that we are on the right track, or possibly show us another or additional diagnosis that could possible be treated. We all agree that this is her best chance at the life she deserves. Little Galaxy Angel is doing better every day with care, good nutrition and physical therapy to help her muscles gain strength. We don't expect a miracle but we are hoping to set Galaxy Angel up for a potential adoption with a family who will know how to take care of her.
If you can help with her MRI cost - she will be eternally grateful! Go to https://www.paypal.com/donate?campaign_id=KZDR9L6FRU3WW
SAVING PRECIOUS LIVES! Wild Blue Cats needs your help! In July a lady found two tiny kittens. Her big heart told her that she needed to take them in. She bottle fed both of them and tried to get them healthy. She named them Squeaks and Sugar. As she was caring for the two kittens it became obvious that Squeaks had something wrong with her. She was unable to hold herself up, unable to use the litterbox, and unable to eat on her own. The rescuer became overwhelmed as no place could or would help her with Squeaks.
In February the rescuer heard about Wild Blue Cats. She was still nervous that we would not be able or willing to help her. In Wild Blue's mission we are the rescue who takes the hard cases. The two female kittens came to Wild Blue in February. Upon intake there were several issues that we noticed. Squeaks, now named Galaxy Angel was severely underweight and her eyes were constantly dilated. She also could not stand on her own or even hold her head up. She has a constant tremor. Sugar, now known as Garling, seems perfectly fine. She will even be available for adoption soon.
Back to Galaxy Angel, we started treating her for a few different illnesses, including FIP. We also are pretty sure she has CH. Cerebellar Hypoplasia. But we need to rule out other issues. She is doing better now, but she has a long way to go. This week she was taken to Dr. Song in Castle Rock. She is a neurologist who has helped us with some of the severe cases over the years. After her examination of Galaxy Angel, it was determined that she really needs an MRI. The MRI costs around $4500. Dr. Song has made it clear that the MRI could tell us exactly what type of neurological issue we are dealing with or it may tell us nothing. But in order to give her a chance at a brighter future we have decided it is worth the chance. By performing the MRI we will be able to tell is she has some sort of malformation, an infection, a degenerative disease, or even neuro FIP.
Gravity and Taus - BFFs
Day 17 of 30 days of 30 cats who need a Home for the Holidays - Two for one today!
And today is a day to be thankful for our FURiends!
Hi there! Taus and Gravity are a fully bonded pair of kitties, looking for a forever home together! Taus is a neutered male, short haired gray and white tabby with special needs. Gravity is a spayed female, short haired ticked tabby. Since they were just tiny babies, they have been inseparable.
A little more about Taus' special needs: Due to a spinal deformity, he does not have use of his back legs. He still uses them to get around though, so they do not bother him one bit! Just more to love. He is diaper trained and used to taking a bath for those days where he needs more than just a wipe down. He will need diaper changes regularly and will never regain use of his back legs. However, that does not stop him from being on the go around the house! He can climb couches, beds, up and down carpet stairs. He is truly such a joy to be around and make his foster family giggle. His care is simple but needed for the rest of his life. Once you have his morning/ night routine down, it is a piece of cake! Taus will require miralax to help him pass
stool easier (usually given by syringe with water). He may also need you from time to time to express his bladder for him as the nerve damage has made its way to his bladder as he ages. His foster mom learned how to help Taus alleviate himself in just one day!
Gravity loves to snuggle and receive belly rubs. She will flop herself in front of you in any room and demand to be loved. She really has come out of her shell being in a foster home with the ability to explore with her foster siblings.
More about Taus and Gravity: they are trained to go in their gated area (play pen) at night. They love to share the same dish when it is time to eat. Gravity plays gently with Taus like she understands his limitations. They will seek each other when outside their play pen to play and snuggle. They both get alon
Humvee Needs a Home for the Holidays.
Day Sixteen! of 30 Days of 30 Cats who need a Home for the Holidays!
We have a very special girl today. Her name is Humvee. She is on a special diet and we have helped her lose weight. On intake she weighed 28 lbs. She is under 20 lbs. We have been going slow to avoid any health problems from losing weight too fast.
Here is her Bio.
Hi there, I'm Humvee, a female black-and-white short-haired beauty born around May 13th, 2017. I admit, I am carrying a lot of extra weight right now, but I'm on a slow and steady journey to slim down and feel better thanks to Wild Blue's help. My size limits my mobility, so I walk at my own slow and steady pace, and I prefer to keep my personal space when it comes to other cats. If they get too close, I may give a little hiss or swat--it's just my way of setting boundaries with them since I can't move away quickly.
Despite my size, I'm a total sweetheart with people, especially when it comes to petting and brushing! I thoroughly enjoy being brushed or pet around my head, neck, and shoulders, and I'm quick to purr. Caressing is one of my favorite things, but my back end and hips can be sensitive due to some skin issues and pain, so I need gentle care in those areas. Because of this, I'm taking some important meds to help keep me comfortable and mobile, and while I'm not a fan of taking pills directly, I've learned that hiding them in a tiny bit of wet food works like a charm! I'm getting the care I need to improve my health and the encouragement to keep moving, and I'm looking for a loving adopter who can continue to support me on this journey.
Though I've lived with other cats before, I'm ready to be the center of attention in a calm, quiet home where I can be your one and only pet. I'm truly a lovebug with people, and I'm looking for my person that can give me the special care I deserve--especially when it comes to grooming and taking my meds.
If you're looking for a special kitty who's working toward a healthier future,

***ADOPTED!****Day TEN of 30 Days of 30 Cats who need their own Home for the Holidays.
Hi all! I’m Gallardo and I was born to a HUGE family on 7/16/2024. I was one of TEN. Yes TEN kittens born to a feral mama. She didn’t even have enough room at the milk bar for all of us. So I went to foster to be bottle fed. When I was little the fosters and volunteers noticed that something was a little off about me. Turns out that I have wobbly kitty syndrome. Cerebellar Hypoplasia. I get around really well and have learned to eat from a bowl without making a mess everywhere. When I first learned to eat solid food I would be covered. I’m all white and I’ve been told I’m a real cutie. I LOVE all of my foster siblings. Please put in an app for me. Go to wbcats.org/adopt to fill out an app.

****ADOPTED!!! Day 9 - Home for the Holidays - 30 Cats- 30 days!
Hi there! I am Great Victoria and I am approximately 2.5 years old. I am a gray and white short haired kitty. I came to Wild Blue Cats from New Mexico where I gave birth to kittens and stayed in a foster home waiting for my babies to be adopted. Wild Blue Cats brought me to Colorado so that I can have a better life.
I can be shy at times, but I am quickly learning that I absolutely LOVE being pet. My whole life I had no idea how wonderful people can be. I am still learning to trust and I would love to have a quiet family, maybe with some older kids who will shower me with affection. I will reward your attention with purrs and kneading. And I will even show you my belly for rubs once I trust you. I may even climb in your lap once we have had time to get to know each other.
I am okay with other quiet cats. I do not like cats who are too rambunctious. I prefer a gentleman or lady as my companions. I adore cozy spaces and beds. And I will be cautious and take my time to be comfortable, but I promise once I am settled you will adore me.
Could you be that special someone to help me have a beautiful forever home? An show me what it means to be truly safe and loved?
If you're ready to meet me and give me some proper loving, please visit www.wbcats.org/adopt to fill out an application.
